We rented this place in Maplewood because it was close to my new job in Woodbury. Townhouse with 3 bedrooms, 1½ baths, tuck under garage. From a letter: "About 160 units in the complex filled with Negroes, Mexicans, Cubans, Hawaiians, Samoans, Greeks, Polynesians, Japanese, Chinese, Viet Namese and a few Caucasians. The buildings back onto a quad which has volleyball games going with many families hanging out, laughing and talking. There is an open field on one side of the quad with a large childrens playground. Since most of the palces are filled with young families there are kids all over the place whooping it until dark".
From our kitchen window we look onto a field across the road which has two horses. In fact, it feels like we are in the country-side rather than in a city.
