Thief River Falls
Marjorie Hartmann, 63, formerly of Beaulieu, died Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at Dakota Heartland Hospital in Fargo, ND.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 8 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beaulieu with Father Rick Lambert officiating. Lavon Slette was the organist, and special music was provided by Carol Liebl. Casketbearers were Clinton Johnson, Randy Kosak, Mark Malecek, Chris Malecek, Warren Hartmann and Wilbert Miller. Interment was in Riverside Memorial Park in Mahnomen.
Marjorie Malecek was born on May 8, 1935 near Bechyn in Renville county, the daughter of John and Mary (Serbus) Malecek. She grew up and attended school in Redwood Falls. After graduating from Red Wood Falls High School in 1953 she worked at the telephone office in New Ulm for four years.
On October 29, 1957 she married Fred Hartmann in Bechyn. They moved to Mahnomen county and farmed near Beaulieu until 1993. Marjorie also worked at the hospital in Fosston and Midway Care Center. In October of 1996, the couple moved to Thief River Falls where Marjorie worked at a school and Hartwood Motel.
She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Beaulieu and St. Joseph's Christian Mothers.
Marjorie is survived by her husband, Fred; two sons, Fred Jr. (Stacy) of Thief River Falls and Roland of Willmar; five daughters, Linda (Dale) Noll of Mahnomen, Donna (Derrick) Turner of Fargo, ND, Sandra (Gary) John of Lengby, Theresa (Vincent) Simon of Waubun and Marcia (Peter) Liebl of Gary; five grandchildren; and two brothers, John of Coon Rapids and Jerome (Opal) of Morgan.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Bernard; three sisters, Rose, Angeline and Regina; and one grandson, Andrew Noll.
