We sure got to know the way to Auckland Airport in April. First David brought Ian there so he could fly off to his son Douglas’ wedding in Melbourne. Then I brought Doug and Marcia there as they flew out to visit her brother in Laos and spend some time in Bali. I brought Gail to the domestic terminal as she was off to Wellington for a three day seminar for her librarian course. Little did I know that two days later I would be leaving from the International terminal to rush off to be with Gail’s mother who was in the ICU in Prescott, Arizona.
Promised my 11 year old friend, Christopher, a camping outing. The girls, Steph and Ne went out to Nick’s first.
David, Chris and I joined them. We set the tent for me and Chris in as remote a place as we could on the 13 acres. After a hotdog roast Ne and Chris caught an eel.
The next day Chris fished from the bridge, surfed and cooked supper over the fire. The third day he hunted birds with David’s air rifle and did some kayaking.
It was home for the men and ladies stayed behind another week. I then went out to stay a couple on my lonesome for a nice rest and doing some maintenance around the place.

I built a slide for the pool using Trish's old kitchen countertop. Also completed the patio by the fish pond.
Well, I no sooner get back than I find out that Berthe couldn’t use the bach she reserved at Orua Bay so we have it. Girls were up there already. Gail and I went up the peninsula the following day. Been 28 years since we were last there and it is no longer the remote place with a few old beach homes but quite flash. Ian and Susi joined us for the day — petanque and bridge when not on the beach.
