The Minnesota town of Bechyn was named for a regional center in Bohemia, Bechyné. It is located on the Lužnice River 20 km southwest of Tábor. The best guess we have is that the people who arrived in Minnesota around 140 years ago came from farms near Lomnice which is west of Bechyné. In 2008 New Zealand friends, the Yris went out of their way during a trip through Germany to go to Bechyné. They brought back the ceramic magnet (above) and the items below. | ||
