2000 Waiuku Formula 1
Australia   7 May   4 laps    Course: Adelaide track
Our first race of the year and a very late start.  Our first race using the real penalty chart.  Black Dog driving for Jordan maintained a winning lead for the race.  The only action was happening at the rear where KryptKicker and Jazz were bashing it out for last place, when Jazz's Jaguar blewout and couldn't finish.
Brazil   14 May   6 laps    Course: standard track
Just like last year, we had a complete reversal and Melbourne's loser came out a winner for Jaguar.  Kryptkicker used most of his cards to get out to a big lead which he held for 3 laps.  Could have won, but a crucial spinoff found him blocked a couple times, so he had to fight his way back for a third placing.  The Bodyguard wants to lay claim to a record number of spin-offs as the reason for her not finishing, but we tend to think that it was the red wine.
Britain  3 June  4 laps  Course: Silverstone
Our very first false start ever - Jazz had set up the standard track and I didn't notice until the race had begun.  So we switched to the correct one and had a second go at it. Black Dog used a now familiar tactic of using cards to get a big lead.  But a few to many spin offs and he relenquished the lead to Fireball at the start of the third lap, who went on to win the race for Prost.  The BodyGuard and Fireball had the majority of Superb Driving cards, but as we found out last year, they aren't a big help on this track. Most of the excitement was taking place at the back of the field.  The BodyGuard, Mango and KryptKicker each spinning off and being blocked repeatedly.
Spain  July 2  5 laps   Course: Barcelona
After 10 years of racing Jazz decided to use a "Superb Driving" from the pole position!!!!  The Bodyguard was vacationing in Melbourne, so Ne sat in for her and did quite well maintaining the lead from the end of the second lap and to the fourth. But as she and most of the others entered pits Fireball made his move and took over first.  Ne made a mistake and spun off at the end of lap 4 and was joined by Blackdog and Jazz.  It looked like Fireball had an easy run to the end, but Black Dog managed to catch him and force him off and take the race trophy.  KryptKicker used his normal strategy of hanging in the back and each time that he made his move tragedy struck - still he only missed 3rd place by one move.  In fact, there were 16 spinoffs, so it was rough going for everyone.
Canada 11 July  4 laps  Course: Gilles Villeneuve
Black Dog built a large lead over the first two laps only to be blocked by Jazz when he went into the pits.  But he managed to just take the win on the second to last move from her.  So it looks like Jordan has overcome last year's problem, with 3 wins in the first 5 races of 2000.  Fireball felt he drove a nothing race, just staying in third from start to finish.  That left all the action at the tail where Mango's substitute driver's inexperience didn't show, managing to get a clear 4th. The Bodyguard made her big move going into the final lap and almost caught the purple/black McLaren.  Rumors have it that Ferrari aren't happy with KryptKicker, who hasn't made the podium yet this year and managed to spin-off 7 times.  And we believe we have a record when three drivers spun-off in a row.
Germany   20 Aug   4 laps   Course: Hockenheim
Black Dog applied his favorite tactic using two cards from the pole position to jump into a lead.  But at long last, his luck ran out and he spun off 6 times.  It was a rugged track (some would say loaded dice) causing 19 spin offs (not counting KryptKicker's 3 intentional).  The only race going on was for 1st with Fireball having a good lead.  But KryptKicker made his move twice near the end to take first away and ended up spinning off both times because he had no brakes left.
Hungary  3 Sept  5 laps  Course: Hungaroring
I think we will concede that Jordan has the fastest car because Black Dog took pole position once again.  He was blocked in the third corner, but quickly regained the lead and was never headed.  So the real race was for second, with the remaining five cars bunched through 3 laps.  The Body Guard used 6 tactic cards in the first lap to try to maintain position but six spin offs took its toll.  Krypt Kicker led the bunch until he was blocked in the pits, but he was able to get his Ferrari around Fireball's Prost in the final lap and secure his second 2nd in a row.
Belgium   24 Sep    4 laps   Course: Spa
Fireball had pole position and was able to hold onto the lead for 2½ laps when Blackdog overtook him.  Those two then jostled for the lead until the very last move which found the Prost pipping the Jordan.  KryptKicker drew last on the grid and drove his normal cautious pace waiting for the right moment which came in the third lap.  He got around The Bodyguard and then cruised past Jazz's Jaguar when it spun off.  And then he blocked Mango in the pits and went on to an easy third place finish.  An unfortunate spin off on the last lap prevented his Ferrari from gaining the top spot.  And that has been his fate all year; each time he makes a crucial move he has spun-off. Even worse luck for Mango with his McLaren having many mechanical difficulties, requiring a couple pit stops and keeping to safety speeds.  Jazz had almost given up but The Body Guard spun off on the last corner letting the Jag get 5th place.
Italy  1 Oct  4 laps  Course: Monza
KryptKicker had the pole position and wasted it when he was blocked on the second move by Black Dog and Mango.  But those two spun off on the next corner and suffered multiple blocks which knocked them out of the race and sent The Bodyguard into a commanding lead.  A lead held half way to through the final lap when she spun off using an advance 4-squares card.  The tell ing blow came when she spun-off again near the end and Fireball cruised past for yet another win.  A wicked track caused 20 spin-offs (9 in the final lap) for a new record.  And Black Dog set a driver record with 8 spin-offs.
Europe   4 Oct   5 laps     Course: Catalunya
Pole position didn't help Jazz who finished 5th thanks to consecutive blocks by the other drivers early in the first lap.  Well, every driver except the KryptKicker spun off at the second curve and was double blocked.  Fireball led the whole race but lost it on the final move when he spun off allowing Blackdog (who had been 4th most of the race) to win again.  In fact, this was the meanest race ever with 11 blocks.  KryptKicker drove like a demon possessed and was able to to gain 3rd place in lap 3, only to spin off 3 times in lap four and never catch the field again.  Mango and The Bodyguard gave Blackdog the win when they too spun off near the end of the final lap.
Japan  7 Oct   3 laps    Course: Suzuka
Fireball had pole and maintained the lead through the first lap and well into the second. Quite a few tactic cards were used in the beginning stages.  Guest driver, Blundell Man, in a leadless pewter car, with everyone assisting, took the lead and went on to win.  KryptKicker was third all the way and almost had second, but The Bodyguard used a card at the end blocking him for a finish in third.  Blackdog had his usual rotten luck, spinning off and being blocked.  He was even blocked in the pits but came roaring out at full speed the final lap and managed to get a couple points to put himself back into the lead for the year.  Mango set a record 6 spin-offs breaking Fireball's hold on that dubious record.  But for the second race in a row, the hardluck case was Fireball who was blocked at the end of the last lap allowing everyone to pass him by.
Monaco  22 Oct  5 laps   Course: Estoril
The Bodyguard had pole and used her usual strategy of using cards to build a lead.  But into the 2nd lap both Mango and Jazz used a card and had two penalty shakes each to block the Williams car on two consecutive turns and then to add insult Blackdog cut her off, going from 1st to 5th on one bad move.  Gruelling tracked forced 5 of the cars into the pits at the end of the second lap, and this allowed the McLaren and Prost cars to get an enormous lead.  Mango racked up his first win of the year with some supberb driving.  Fireball was moaning about his bad luck continuing as in the previous race because he spun off on the final corner and allowed Blackdog the opportunity to pip him for 2nd.  But uncharacteristically, Blackdog didn't spend 5 minutes calculating all of the posssible moves and Fireball came out of the spin at 20mph forcing Blackdog to spin off.  KryptKicker had his usual bad luck with the dice, but managed to streak ahead of Jazz on the final corner and grab 5th place.  Blundell Man, fresh off his maiden victory, found the going tough and settled for an extremely cautious approach that assured him a deserved last placing.
San Marino  19 Nov  5 laps  Course: Imola
This new track was designed to be the shortest and probably the fastest. Mango had the pole position and kept it for the first half of the race.  Jazz spun off and Blackdog tried to block her only to spin off and be blocked twice.  So the lucky Jazz was able to overtake the McClaren and hold on for a first placing.  Fireball had a steady race for a third placing.  Hardluck driver was KryptKicker who had third sewn up until the end of the race when Fireball and The Bodyguard made a flying block to relugate Ferrari to 5th place.
France  23 Jan  4 laps   Course: Standard reverse
Final race and all positions up for grabs.  But The Bodyguard withdrew from the race accepting her fate to be last for the year.  Mango had pole but was immediately blocked by Jazz then KryptKicker; he managed to block KK in the first lap but never recovered and finished last.  Jazz held the lead for the whole race up to the final turn when Blackdog, who had been in 2nd all the way, pulled ahead to win by mere seconds. Fireball had to finish near Blackdog to retain the overall championship, but three spinoffs and a block had him finish in fourth on the day.
