 It all started back in 1971 (18 July), in Fiji, when Ian gave Su Waddington's "Formula 1" boardgame for her birthday.
Gail and I moved to New Zealand in '73, but fate brought us all together again in 1987. Then in 1988 I came across the game at a school gala.
It was missing the penalty chart, but Ian made one up from memory. We have played every year since then. We follow the official race schedule. I have made individual course layouts that follow the real tracks.
Through the miracle of the internet I was able to track down people who knew of the game and one of them, Trevor, supplied us with the official penalty chart.
Waiuku is the town where we now all live.
