Sugar aka Woogie

When we bought a house in Cottage Grove Gail bought a dog to complete our domesticity. We had a naming session and it was David came up with "Sugar". She became his dog when it came to playing. Favorite sport was having her stay in the back yard. Te would then go to the front of house and on a signal she would charge around and thus began the chase. Sometimes David would throw a tennis ball over the house into the back yard and she would have to find it. Gail took her for walks and that is how one night at 9PM a policeman knocked upon our door saying that a neighbor had complained about things being deposited on their lawn. When I took her for runs she would bite the chain and procede to drag me along. When we returned to New Zealand four years later my father took charge of her. He reported that in the mornings Sugar licked his back prior to his shower - sort of a massage. Going out for a walk Sugar waits until Dad says: "Go Go" and she takes off running and does so until Dad gets tired and then they walk the rest of the way.
