1964 A bus ride from downtown Minneapolis to Bloomington (12 miles or so) cost 30¢.
1972 Progressive party. Fran in a wig (no one took a photo!). Scottish eggs at Eric's; Haysons' for fish; Kaci's for main course; Atmores' for dessert and a great rum punch; finishing off at Whites' for coffee where we raffled off a fish hook, a pack of Benson & Hedges and beer.
1977 Aldies came to babysit while Roger treated us to a meal at the Boomerang in Ramarama. Worst meal and service ever. Only two other couples there. A fellow played an organ. Veggies were days old and obviously re-heated. Drinks and meals for three: $27.
1981 Th - Record High = 57°F. David approved for reduced lunch rate because of our low income.
2010 F - Long wait at new Papakura McDonalds. So long that Gail actually jumped into the front of the line next to ours. Lady in our line kept running her credit card through with no luck until her husband told her to flip it over. Long time to get our order, which was sloppily put together. Gone are the days of get-your-order-in-60-seconds-or-its-free.
2012 Su - Colleen, Christine and Pip came for a visit regaled us with many stories.
2013 T - Blackie died today, age 69. The Mills, Bobbie and a Lynn joined us for Trivial Pursuit.
2017 Su - Clayton wrote: "I miss you old bastards". 2 hours of yardwork at 3B. Muppet dug under the fence and went into neighbor's yard and couldn't get back.
2018 M - Russell called - in his Te Kauwhata place at long last.
2019 T - Biked to 34OC for an hour's time in the yard. Biked home at dusk (with sunglasses on) and had to stop once - a bit wobbly. Blood gluscose at 3.5 explained that.
2021 F - Turned in my script and Lucy said the meds were the usual boring stuff. Gail and Ne back from Wentworth. Gail damaged a knee on way down from waterfall. Watched Garage Gold.
2022 Sa - 34OC and lucky I went as I discovered left the hose left on overnight and flooded the veggie gardens and the back area.
