Grand Canyon National Park
26-27 June 2002

Along the whole trip we noticed that the campgrounds were pretty much vacant, so we thought we had a shot at getting a spot in Grand Canyon even though we arrived at 7PM and sure enough - plenty to choose from at the Desert View campground.

Up at 7AM which meant that we could drive the 20 miles to Rim Trail and get onto it while it was still cool and not crowded.

We completed our rim trail stroll and left the park at 11AM.  Really strange scene as there were only 3 - 4 cars heading out of the park and a mile long double line of traffic crawling to get into it.
