1972 | 4B played with magnets today. Letter from Gene Newstrom with an envelope of stamps. | ||
1973 | Jr Basketball.and back to Y to ref 6PM game with a useless girl as 2nd ref. We played High School B and won 39 - 13. Scored 10 points. Home for soup, then back to score and ref. Cleaned up and closed the Y at 10:45PM. | ||
1974 | Duncan McDonald, wife and kids visited - he had been an engineer at Vatukola. | ||
1975 | Went to Paul Towne's graduation party at his mother, Alice (and his step-father Leland), place. Met and Marge and Warren Reitan. Picked up Angi and went to mom's 50th birthday party at the new house. Dick and Joyce, Chris, Don and Dolly, Jim and Pat. 1980 | Su - Kids and I brought Chris over for Mom's 55th. Played jarts with him and kids until Jim and Pat came. Picked up Gail from work. Had the party in back yard: gave mom her gifts: kiwi liqueur (smells like green apple candy), can of feijoas, Bushells coffee, paua shell necklace... After a meal with an excellent Gallo rosé, Jim and Angi dropped in. | ![]() ![]() ![]() | |
1984 | F - Steve, Roxane and Julie came to stay the night and we looked at their slides of Africa. | ||
1985 | Sa - Dropped off Nadine's plate and picked up Morris' trailer. Brought three loads of prunings to the tip. Picked up the divan and a carpet from Sanders. Returned the trailer and ended up watching the first half of All Blacks 42 - Britain 10 test. Used Morris' lopers to tackle the 20' hedge. We went to Benson's for supper. Owen had two great stories of how he came to own two old chairs (auction and mother). | ||
2007 | Steph stored her belongings in the garage, left her car on the driveway and I brought her to the airport. Wonnie from Paper Plus called - I left my folding money ($290) on magazines and it was turned in. | ||
2019 | Sa - Cold and wind kept crowd number down. Warriors were ahead at half-time. There was a so-called BIG act at half-time. four people twirling colored lights - quite boring. Team didn't score in 2nd half as Melbourne rolled onto a victory. Russell's brother, Glen, very upset with the team. Non-Stop traffic in Kaimais coming out of Tauranga. Probably a rugby crowd leaving after game. But just to be safe I put the radio on to see if maybe tsunami was on its way. | ![]() | |
2022 | W - 50 minute walk to Bayfair in my shorts and t-shirt (beautiful 19°C - global warming, eh?) Found a dollar ($12.60). | ||
2023 | Th - David (with very long hair) up for the weekend. After a chili con carne supper we played Wingspan and taught him Habitats. | ||
2024 | Sa - Up at 11:15AM. email to Hansen. Long game of Alhambra with a couple trips over to Ne's to put leg back onto her sofa. Chinese for supper with a blueberry/apple pie for desseert. Ne left and and we had the Portuguese Formula One race. David got first and second. Gail just managed to last the 3 laps. David and I played Wingpsan. $50 Million must be won Lotto and we didn't get a dollar. Watched Warriors 42 - Cowboys 12 (highlights). | ||
