| One day someone brought a giant grapefruit. So I had to have one. One night I talked Mark into wearing his trench coat to supper and doing the vaudeville bit:
"Wanna buy a duck?" using my grapefruit. I named my grapefruit "Lautoka".
I brought it to classes, meals and everywhere. Diane had the biggest duck (but shamefully used it as a door stop).
Myque joined in and we used to bring the ducks together to play. But the classic was one morning there was
Hoffsis dragging his grapefruit along the porch using his belt as a leash - walking his duck, eh? I had to tell a story in Hindi. I did "Ugly Duckling" using small oranges who grew into larger oranges. But the Ugly Duckling grew into a gigantic...grapefruit. When I had my final session with the shrink I brought Lautoka along.
When he asked me if I had any problems I told that I didn't but my duck thinks its a grapefruit. |
