Excerpts from first letter written in Fiji: "Well, I is here inda land of rain. When it rains it pours pours pours. ...We have Fijians cooking and giving us one day laundry service.  The food is scrimpy and not so great, so I am starving off and on. A lot of people are sick because of the switch in climate and food, but I'm okay so far. You get use to the ants crawling on everything, toads all over the place at night and the mosquito nets keep them away so we can sleep.  The heat makes it easy to sleep during the day, so I take regular naps and showers.

another meeting"We have meetings all the time and meet all sorts of people.  But we do have a lot of free time to go shopping. Which is one thing I hate to do; I just don't dig fighting for a decent price.  Everyone knows that the prices are twice what they're suppose to be and everyone knows you have to bargain and everyone knows you aren't going to get the price down very much, but you have to do it anyway.  I'm not very good at it and I don't care as long as I have some money in my pocket.

Radio is neat here - we pick up Australia and at night we get soap opera type stuff, mysteries and comedy programs"
