Jane Fujioka

The Fujiokas were my favorite family and I absolutely loved Jane (cook for PCVs). They lived in Milo village. She worked in a Realty office about 15 miles soiuth of Ooklala in 1973  Asaichi was a manager at the mill. They taught me how to play hanamada. Asiachi brought me and Blado for a tour of the Volcanoes National Park. We remained close for very many years and I was able to bring Gail and David (1 yr old) to Ookala and meet them in 1975. They put us up for a night in 1985 for Renee's first taste of Hawaii. She won a Dodge Dodge caravan in 1985. In 1986 they went to Las Vegas and had to sleep in Honolulu airport (plane problem) because no rooms available. Jane and Asaichi spent an afternoon in Papakura with us in 1986. After we lost Asaichi in 1991 to cancer Jane moved to Hilo and worked in a real estate office. We missed out on seeing her in 1997 as she was visiting grandchildren in New York. Jane's favorite TV show was "Hawaii 5-0" - no surprize there, eh?
