Walter Ito
1969

Walter was short, but his parents were even shorter.  Extremely happy-go-lucky family and I had the chance to spend a few late evenings with them playing cards.  He worked at a macadamian nut plantation.  His best friend was Calvin Sato and the two of them were the local Laurel and Hardy.

OBIT  Walter I. Ito, 50, of Hilo, Hawaii, a cane cutter for the former Ookala Sugar Co., died Nov. 17, 1998 in Hilo Hospital. He was born in Ookala, Hawaii.  He is survived by caregivers Debra Fronda and Tony Hensley. Services: 6:30 p.m.  Tuesday in the Waiakea Villas hotel lobby.
