Tom and I buddied up at staging and continued doing things together in Hawaii. He was very openly against
all the rules and meetings. He had a lot of talks with staff and we were worried that he wouldn't make it. So it was
a relief when we were told that he had been accepted. Still true to form, as soon as we were sworn in at Hilo, he and I
split and went back to Ookala. Only saw him a few times in Nausori. In 1971 he refused to talk to me because I hadn't sent him a birthday card.
He married Joe Gibson's niece, Irene, and went local in 1972. Tom was found in Conn in 1987. He and Gene Bratt were in NZ in 2019 and they did Fiji in 2022. |
