   Eric Sigston

Our little blowhard (calling the Queen), bullhorn (man, could he turn up the volume) or Napolean (he was short enough and loved to drill the Cadets). He haled from Yarmouth, England. My favorite personal memory is when I was ill and came down to the school in the rain and he took me aside and told me to go home: "No one is indispensable." I have tried to remember that and have passed those words on.
One day in 1971 he was on the national (okay, the only one) radio discussing sports and that was an eye opener to discover a another side of his many personas. Did I mention that he was a fireball of energy.
On our wedding day he gave Gail a ceremonial war club to keep me in line. We still have it and I treasure it.
Heard that Eric passed away in 1985 in a Sydney hospital where he was taken when his liver gave out (yes he liked to drink) in the Solomon Islands. Rest in Peace, my friend.
