losseslast day

Our biggest loss for the year was Joyce’s dearest friend, Bill Gonzalez. He turned her life around and gave her much joy the past ten years.

Gail lost the diamond from her wedding ring (soooo... small we couldn’t find it, eh?)

My brother Chris had to put his long time cat, Dixie, down, as our kids had to do with our Cabernet while Gail and I were in AZ.

Got up at 12:20PM to find Brundell who stayed for lunch and when he left I went back to bed and slept until 5:30PM.  Meanwhile Whites and Domo's came over for a swim and to pick up van so they could get Steve and family who finally made it out of Nauru.  The Emery ensemble arrived about 7:30PM.  Chris and David played a Lord of the Rings board game.  We oldies tried "TriBond" (no, not a reunion of Connery, Brosnan and Moore).

Upstairs for Anne's first go at pool and while playing the Whites slowly filtered in (Ian lost car key... but we don't want to go there, eh?).  Had a French Chenet 2000 cabernet-syrah to get me to through to the new year.  Soon we had games going on in three rooms and a group outside.

At midnight two things happened -
1) Eight of us dove into the pool and the water was so WARM that we stayed in (a few for an hour or so)

2) cellphones appeared out of nowhere as people called and received calls to wish each other Happy New Year.

People began leaving at 1:30AM and I got to bed around 3AM.
The End.

We had another computer specialist in the family.  Ne was asked to take on a job in Pukekohe training kids who weren’t suited for normal schooling.  Trying to give them computer and job finding skills. She did extremely well and turned the results around by gaining the students respect and by being a fair disciplinarian.  But unfortunately, just like me, she couldn’t handle the full-time position and had to resign.  Even though there for only a short time she was given a big send-off with everyone from co-workers, to parents to even the students very sad to see her leave. Anyone can get married. The way so many marriages seem to come to an early end, it sure seems like a waste of money to throw a big wedding reception. So I propose that any celebrations be done on the 5th anniversary.
