POLYNESIAN KALEIDOSCOPES comes this series of bright and bold designs that bring the flower to the forefront. Ne studied at Manukau Institute of Technology for three years towards a Diploma of Visual Arts. One can see the influence Fatu Feu'u has had on her acrylics. Ne has put together around 20 acrylic pieces ranging from 4”x 6” up to 2’x 3’. She likes to paint sitting on the floor. Each painting begins in a workbook where she sketches the layouts and designs. Getting the color combination is a matter of try it and see what it looks like. Once the color scheme is settled it is then a matter of putting in the details. When she is happy with a piece it is then sprayed with a polyurethane (clear varnish). | I have seen signs advertising “Top Soil”. Doesn’t anyone want “Bottom Soil”? What about a mixture—”Multi-Level Soil”? |
