Dearly Departed
James Alderson’s life ended tragically. He was a young man who had Asperges and led a limited lifestyle. His family are very close to us and we feel his loss deeply.

On October 27th we had Bonnie put to sleep. It became apparent the day before that she was in major trouble. Liver cancer. We got Bonnie as a 9 year old. But she was lively as a pup and loved to be chased. She was truly Renee’s dog, but is missed by all.

My father’s partner for 30 years, Lavonne, died suddenly in July. A truly remarkable woman who was always ready for fun and a good joke. She was full of life and it rubbed off on everyone who’s life she touched.

Quiet Christmas?
Trish gave me a turkey that sings “Jingle Bells” while running about. Absolutely hilarious and used over and over again. Elaine joined us for a snack meal on the 24th. Stephanie came out for the afternoon on Christmas Day.

Boxing Day Big Bash
The Whites showed up en force with Leon for an afternoon of swimming pool fun and board games.

New Year’s Eve
Trish came over for a meal and showed us her photos from the wedding she and David attended in India. Played Upwords with Ne. Russell came by later with a bottle of bubbly and we taught him Rummikub. No pool jump this year, just hugs and kisses at midnight.

No longer house bound, Gail has visited her veggie garden, been on the deck, went to Kjell’s 60th, saw Paul’s Christmas lights and has been shopping. Gail saw a physiotherapist for her leg and he is organizing an exer-cycle for her, which Ne will also use as her knees are knackered.

Flops

The prefixes mega, giga and tera are all pretty familiar, but from there it goes to peta, exa, zetta, yotta, and xera, which I did not know. A xeraflop is 10E27 flops. Maybe after that it should just be lotta, as in lottaflops.?
