A DAY IN THE LIFE OF
I got up at 10AM. Mind you, I had been up at 1:30AM, 3:30AM and 6:30AM to relieve my bladder which is in sad shape since the scar tissue was lasered a month ago. In an effort to reduce the amount of leakage, I moved to a smaller cup for my morning coffee. I had a slice of fresh pineapple while waiting for the jug to boil. I am adding a spoonful of psyilium husk to the coffee to try to break my constipation/diarreah cycle that I have because I don't take in enough fluids. Computer on and I remove my sleep socks (big wooly things). I go to MLB.com and listen to the Twins game of April 24 - they lost to the Tigers 10 - 6. Then I check my email. The various accounts all forward to one and I use Thunderbird as my mail programme. Just the usual daily pitches by various companies (Mighty Ape, The Warehouse, PB Technologies) trying to sell me something and nudges from Facebook that I missing out on others' lives if I don't login. email from Bruce Atmore replying to the the one I sent for "The Blare"'s birthday. Invite from Martin Wallace to a play testing session this Friday for his latest board games. Open up Mozilla Firefox and check today's TV schedule on the Freewview site. Then I look at Yahoo news site and check the weather forecast.
I sent an email to Irene covering items that we discussed when they were here last week. I also sent a photo of Ian in which he appears to be naked at Vitu Levu Bay on 4 April 1971. He replied and I sent him the movie from which the still had been taken. I worked on the lastest MalleyGram
With my last gulp of coffee I take my morning pills which are metformin (diabetes), nitrofurantoin (bladder), oxybutynin chloride (bladder), fish oil capsule, heart aspirin and quinapril (blood pressure - recently doubled to 10mg). For breakfast I had a bowl of museli (Colleen Atmore's recipe) and a bowl of Greek Style plain yoghurt into which I add blueberries and sunflower seeds.
Now I move onto my daily computer chores which I do while listening to the game. First of all I add to today's On This Day page, copy yesterday's entry to my backup directory and remove non-public/boring bits from yesterday's entry prior to uploading. I then transfer a website folder from active to backup on my computer. Scan one of David's patches to my webpage. I remove references to Renee from a MalleyGram page and scan a letter from my mother. Then its scan a photo from 1986 and edit a photo from the women's trip to see David and put it on a webpage.
Gail got home at 12:30PM having volunteered at hospice shop. She went off to the Papamoa library with Ne and I was outside pruning and moving two plastic containers of green materials to the road for pickup tomorrow. I prepared a rubbish bag by empting vacuum into it and adding laste wee's shredded docuuments. Only letter in the mail box was for a Matina Knifeer using our address, so I tossed it. Read a chapter of Passions of the Mind sitting on the bench in the cool autumn air. I finally decide to figure out how to remove bits from a video. My Pinancle Studio came up with page error when trying to go to its help. Windows Movie Maker's help page was useless. Finally found a YouTube video that explained how to do it in Corel Video Studio. Had a whole bread/whole mustard seed sandwhich for lunch. I snack on fruit, nuts and veggies throughout the day. When Gail came home we played cribbage. We each won a game by 122 - 111 and I was skunked 87 - 121.
Took a metformin, nitrofurantoin and fish oil and joined Gail for a chile con carne supper while watching Channel 3 news (Key in trouble over not banning testing on animals for his legal high legislation).
At 7:30PM I moved to the lounge with a newspaper to watch The Middle, The Goldbergs, Person of Interest, Trophy Wife and Super Fun Night. When I finish the paper's crossword I read Robert Crais' The Two Minute Rule and The Eat For Keeps Experience. Prune(s) at 11PM. Take my evening pills around 11:15PM which are nitrofurantoin, amytrip (restless legs), sinemet (restless legs), Atorvastatin (cholesterol), oxybutynin, fish oil and a painkiller (aspirin or paracetemol or Diclofenac or Paradex). Eat walnuts or Brasil nuts for my midnight snack. Floss, brush and mouth wash before going to be at 1:30AM. Now, during the day I am on the toilet (about every 15 minutes) where I read World Without End.
