| Newstrom, Eugene B. 90 years old, of Richfield. Beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather died peacefully on Friday, July 31 at Providence Place in Mpls. Born and raised in Mpls. Served in WWII as a topographer with the Army. Trained as an artist while with the Army in Italy. Loved art and his family. Preceded in death by brothers, Frank and David and sister Betty Birkeland. Survived by loving wife, Grayce; children, Stephen (Darlene), Karen Newstrom-Peitso (Roger), Julie Ancel (Scott); grandchildren, Erik Specht, Kirsten Newstrom, John Wentzlaff (Lisa) and family; great- grandson Tyler Francis; many nieces and nephews. Longtime member of Hope Lutheran Church. Memorial service at Hope Lutheran Church, 5728 Cedar Ave S., Mpls. on Wednesday, Aug. 5 at 1:00 pm, gathering from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Memorials preferred to Hope Lutheran Church. Private interment at Fort Snelling on Thursday, July 6. | | |
