24th - I	24th Part II	25th
1990	Mike Sanders stopped by with shortbread, peanuts, mince tarts and candy that Kathy had made. He stayed for a beer and told us delivery stories.
1991	Sanders over for supper, Scattegories, gifts. Homemade candy from Kathy. They left at 1AM.
1992	Aldies over at 7PM, Trish reeking from $200 perfume, so I had to go to bed for an hour while she washed.
1993	Aldies over at 2:30PM for Chinese Checkers outside (the dolts remove the marble if it is jumped!). Sanders arrived at 9PM and stayed for a '91 Jacob's Creek Claret and left at 11PM.
1994	Aldies over for a visit, meal and Pig Mania. Mom called at 3:10AM - I talked to her for 30 minutes.
1995	Su - Betty over at 6PM. While having a drink Roy came by with a gift cosmetics. Since Ne has told me that Mike Sanders was at the door, I dragged Roy inside to show everyone who it was. As we were eating a ham meal Doug dropped in with ice cream, our cooler and a bottle of Taylor's Special Ruby port. He stayed to eat. Game of Bucaneer with Betty before dessert and gifts. Betty gave me a Goofy table cloth. Opened family gifts. Gave David James' air rifle. Ne wanted a 14" TV, so I gave her one, eh?
1996	W - Kathy and Mike over with a bottle of Wyndham '94 Cab-Sav for my "Mala-fifty-cek" and a birthday card. Dale and Roy came by at 9:30PM with a bottle of bubbly and entertained with many interesting stories until 12:30AM.
1997	W - Dale and Roy over with bubbly and an excellent Taylors '94 Cab Sav. Visited a couple hours.
1998	Th - Aldies over for drinks by the pool. Whites stopped in long enough for photo taking. Supper, jarts and dessert. Aldies gave us a li-lo for the pool and a Goofy Swim Ring and a wicker duck thingie for Gail. I gave Doug the Lennon CD set.
1999	F - Aldies over at 2:30PM. David and Doug had a swim. Ian came by with Domo's son, Steven, for a swim. Doug had a sleep in my bed while Trish went to Takanini to get James. Played jarts until food. Jarts until gifts.
2000	Su - Aldies came. Raining so it was upstairs for coffee, meal (excellent deRedcliffe '95 riesling) and gifts with Nao.
2001	Swam with Trish (over sans males). We had Pernods outside while playing Chinese checkers, Steph won and a meal followed with Maplenut ice cream (common in Minnesota but a rare in NZ). Stephanie Claus handed them out.
2002	I whipped up some "Bah Humbugs": orange juice peppered with Crantasia, Ginger wine and Galiano and a couple blueberries tossed in. Matthew came over with Stevie and Saula for a swim. Needhams came by and the women went swimming while I hung out with Bob who has sold his first Stinger (racing car that he designed and built). Ian came with Saula and Ravi (Domo's kids) to use van to pick up a carpet from Kaitani for floor in their garage. Big meal with a Stoneleigh 2000 Sav Blanc that was outstanding. Ian and Susi returned van and stayed for a drink of Brown Brothers 2002 dessert wine, Spätlese Lexia. Daphne made claims of missing money so Domo moved back to Whites. Steph also gave us a painting of our house.
2003	A perfumed David and Trish came by for a meal outside - excellent chicken salad with roasted almonds from Trish. They left around 5PM. Played "Lord of the Rings" and Steph joined us for a game of Scotland Yard where Ne was easily caught.
2004	Brundell arrived here in suit having been to a funeral. Trish came by for lunch with Scruffy who got into the fish pond. Then it was Mike and Charlotte who came out to put flowers on graves then stopped in to pick up the laptop he is buying. Needhams over for a meal and visit over a 2003 Timara Merlot that was divine. I gave Gail the Sue Lavender oak leaf bowl.
2005	Needhams over - women went for a swim. They stayed on for a meal (Lawson's Dry Hills '05 Sauv Blanc) and visit. They gave me an Awhitu wine and Hershey's kisses.
2006	Trish and Karen (with Ben, black retriever) came out for a visit.
2007	Had an excellent buffet breakfast (included in room bill) at Citigate. Easy drive to the airport. Five hour wait to board the plane (which was running an hour late). So we went into every shop, read our books and played a game of cribbage. Rude Australian lad next to us who complained about everything (Air NZ) and downed Steinlagers (which he didn't complain about). Had a fish and cole slaw meal with a chockie cake. Loaded up on booze at duty free and thanks to couple before us we used their coupons to get an extra two bottles. Our cans of Campbell's Cream of Celery soup were let into the country so we can make Joyce's chow mein properly now. I had told Ne to drive around and pick us up. But she parked and was inside. Somehow she didn't see us so Gail and I waited an hour outside, Gail went in to look and didn't see her so we decided to take a taxi home. So I called Ne and left a message to tell her our plans. That was when she came out and found us. Home at midnight. Card from Dad who is living in a retirement apartment and complaining about shelves being too high.
2008	While we were eating with Elaine, Roché came round with a box of cookies. After the meal we opened gifts, as Elaine had to get home early.	Elaine
2019	T - B12 and see Giles about my BP. He gave a mighty laugh over my Santa-Biden joke and then we talked politics. Ended up with no charge.
2021	F - Day 126 of Delta/Omicrom lockdown (1547 cases). Phone calls from Kathy, Russell and Irene.
2022	Sa - email and photos from Debbie P. Christmas emails from Irene, Houghton, Cheryl and Gawel. I brought out Dominion Menagerie. Then a couple games of Finca before our turkey/ham/7 layer dinner. Three games of Kingdom Builder before opening gifts. Kizzie loves to deliver the gift and Lili wants to tear the wrapping off and eat it. Affogatos for dessert.
2023	Su - Terranova. Angi and Carl called. Opened gifts. Gave Gail the oximeter and it shows that she is below normal saturation. Ne gave me two bags of crushed cans. I gave her a retro tissue box. Gail gave me tarts which are under recall for having metal in them. Had a ham, turkey, 7 layer salad with a 2022 Templars Hill Pinot Gris. Played Catan. Watched "Love Actually".
2024	T - email from Ian who got my card, with paintbrush, and sent proof that he has done the door. Ne over and we played "River of Gold" and I won. Then we had a turkey meal with a dryish 2022 French rosè by Chateau Terrebonne. Then we opened gifts and the dogs went wild bringing wrapping paper to me. I was given sardines, horseradish, Lotto socks, ticket and a scratchy.
