1989 | Su - Fellow who lived here 1955-60 stopped in with his children. At that time it was a big farm all the way to Gt So Rd and motorway and all of the Rosehill schools. Split into nine 10 acre sections. Veggies garden was where lemon is, They put the kiwifruit in. Where our veggies are was a large shed that held excavation machinery. Out front was sunken with large flower gardens to the road. The large bedroom wasn't there. Watched Tyson beat Bruno (highlights). | |

1997 | W - Asked Shanks if he was "Doug or Douglas". He said it was "Doug" but don't tell his mom, Jennifer (not "Jenny" as she told me in 1995). Advised Yuki and Chi to say "We are happy", not "We are funny". | |
1998 | Th - School at 9AM to find Douglas and Matthew wagging athletics. We spent the whole day in B7. Peter Shanks gave me a copy paper box worth of cookies (he gets the broken ones in bulk for his pigs). Gaye said our offer for the Colombo place (3 tier on 1 acre) rejected even though we offered what they asked. | |
2002 | Senad (fresh tatoo on right arm) and Titania (phony dreadlocks) stopped in with a couple of German uni students, Markus Klose and Suzan Sariefe, on way to and from Awhitu. | |
2012 | Sa - Meal with the Atmores at BlueBiyou at Papamoa Beach. Had a amuse-bouche complements of the chef, bread with dukkah, scallops and pork belly with a parsnip-pear-vanilla mash. Very good Mills Reef '10 syrah and a pleasant Trinity Hill '09 merlot-cabfranc-cabsav. Spoke to the French waitress, Sis, before heading to Colleen's for a Baileys caramel. Chris and Pippa stayed the night with us. |

2021 | F - Saw Dr Kerry in the "Cabin". She said my throat wasn't that bad and did I want a COVID swab? I said it would be cool to be able to say that I had one. Turned out that I didn't have to pay because of the swab, the visit is covered by the government. | |
2023 | Su - Brought Te to airport at 11:10AM. Listened to the Twins first spring training game. 80 minute walk to Concord. I crossed paths with a couple in their swimwear and I pointed and said: "It's that way." He said "bloody tourist" referring to my accent. I told him that I have lived here 50 years. We walked together and when we got to the intersection I pointed again and said: "That way, you can't miss it. It's a big blue thing". He said: "Bloody immigrant". I replied: "That's better". Gym and pool. Bumped into Maggie, who doesn't remember that we had met three times before. Mags gave me a hug and a kiss, so I sat with her in the lounge and talked for ten minutes. | |
