1975 Cashed a $40 personal check at local bank - they had to call my Richfield bank to clear it (I had to pay for the call). David was given a sucker and he loved it.
1980 Th - New Ulm for Crazy Days. Bought Ne a bonnet and David a car at KMart. Walked around downtown. Found cookie cutters. Jeanie treated us to lunch at Hardees. Went for a swim at Sleepy Eye pool where Lori is a lifeguard. Checked out the lake. David began collecting aluminum cans (1¢/can) on the way back and got 18. After supper we brought Gary to his Scouts Athletic meet. He won softball toss, pushups, broadjump and got a trophy. Eloy and I watched Randy play softball.
1982 Sa - Camped out in Afton State Park ($3/night) at site #17 in the trees. Long walk from parking lot going uphill with many stops for rest and water. David and I got firewood. Almost impossible to get water from hand pump. Park is new, so toilets are nice and clean with no smell. Hike to car to get rest of gear. Sugar got heaps of ticks and Ne spent a lot of time removing them. Cooked hotdogs and marshmallows over the fire. Checked Scout book and we are surrounded by poison ivy (Ne calls it "poisonous ivy"). Played Crazy 8 under Coleman light. We all played on our sleeping bags. I covered with as sheet, but others didn't as the temp was in the 70's.

1993 Whites over for lunch. Women went to netball and I showed Ian the tree at Rosehill with the cascading branches. Couple games of Upwords. They stayed on for supper.
1997 Th - Day 17 of our 3 month journey around the world: Boston. See 1997 Trip Photo Journal. Meanwhile, back in New Zealand (the 23rd there) Ne was doing the Pipeline Bungy jump.
1999 Sa - Gail brought Ne home and David told us about his stay in Minnesota. He gave me a Goofy back scratcher and a plush doll (with magnets in hands). David and I went to Whites
2003 Called lady who bought dressor and asked for "Dawn", nope, "Dawn Dueway", nope. Turned out she had written "Down Driveway" and not her name; that turned out to be June. Brought it over and met 4 year old Carla who is getting it. Graeme back from Thailand, called. Audrey back from Canada and we chatted.
2004 Gail and I went to Needhams for a meal with Graeme (lived in Fiji, taught in US), Nancy (from Cuba) and daughter Chelsea. Lovely chatting with them and sipping on an excellent Selak '03 Riesling, an appley TeMara '03 Riesling and a merlot for four hours.
2007 Mike over for R'nR Scattergories while watching the netball girls lose to Australia by 7. He has bought a 1978 race car (Crossle 32) and it is arriving from California this week. Renee found a recipe for Dunkin' Donuts on web and made up a decent batch (but no holes).
2009 F - Ann, Russell and Mike came out for a meal. Ann rushed inside (she had fancy preserving jars to give to Gail) and sent me out to get the food at Fitzy's where Mike was amazed at the young girls coming in barefooted, while he was freezing, all bundled up. Then Ian joined us for TP.
2013 W - Brad and Domi arrived about 3:30PM and after hearing their European plans we played Lord of the Rings.
2015 F - Listened to the Twins win in 10th on Dozier's walkoff. Anna over for Scrabble.
2019 W - Listened to the Twins Indians game with Bauer pitching. Last time we played against him, Kepler had 3 homers. This game Kepler hit homers the first two times at bat for a major league record.
2022 Su - Couple games of Wingspan. We had Indian thingies for supper. Watched the Twins beat the Tigers while painting portraits. AFL: Cats won a thriller for 4th place in the last minute, 89 - 86, over the Tigers. Then Swans slaughtered Saints in a game for 8th place.
