Sydney to Blue Mountains |
In to town to return Ne's non-functioning watch, but shop didn't open until 11AM. Had to wait for 5 other people before I could exchange the incorrect 8mm tape for 3 slide films. Left the Oxford at 10:30AM and headed west. First stop in Burwood so Gail could return a faulty sweater at Target. We bought a lot there and I got a 2 piece charcoal suit ($199) at The Colony Shop in the mall.
Next stop at Mt Druitt Super K-Mart for even more purchases. Loaded up on groceries at Franklins.
We arrived at Katoomba at 4:30PM to find out that place was full (school holidays) but the woman at the Information Center was able to find us a place with a kitchen ($60 + $10 for linen) (apparently a rare thing around there). Turned out to be a complete house (Green Tree Cottages) in the woods near Medlow Bath, pop. 17. Owner is a retired computer person who owns three houses there. He even started the fire in the pot belly stove. Huge wood burner barely kept up with the cold and damp (video). |
