1970 | Sa - Named the puppy Congressman Ghetto. Party at McDougalls. Had good talks with Pam, Pauline's father and Fran. We ate around 11PM. Stayed up until wee hours with the Kiwis and listen to my first All Blacks rugby game on the radio.
1975 | Drove down 169, stopping in New Prague and Montgomery looking for a place to rent. Stopped at Le Center to see Cliff Burgess. Visited Skip and Lenora, in a mobile park, who were hatching schemes to get Gail a job. Got to Cedar Grove Camp near Mankato, where Patty and Bob had set up camp. Bill and Shirley arrived shortly after us and we set up tents. Wandersees came about 8:30PM with their camper. Sat around a campfire. |

1980 | F - We picked up Inez and drove up to Mille Lacs. Walked over to Orr's in Malmo for supper. Saw a red-headed woodpecker and an oriole. Got ice cream at the Old General Store. Walked back through the tall grass (couldn't see Ne). When Chuck got off the lake he bought pizzas. Snowmobiles. Kids slept in the bags (Mork for Ne and Star Trek for Te).
1981 | Sa - Soft brakes - line leaking on way to Chris'. So I had to be very careful getting to Dick's station where we swapped cars. Went to Dad's for a barbecue - first time he did it in a long time. Then we went to LilliPutt in Blaine. Beautiful course ($2/game). Had to stop at 15 holes because we needed to get back to the station by 5PM. $34 for new brake line. Drove out to have a look at Carver Lake. Home to watch our home movies which had David laughing as usual. |

1983 | M - Kicked out of Visitors Center at 6:30AM. Spent 4 hours cleaning, drying and packing. Drove to Fossil Trail which was a big let down. Then Saddle Trail - one mile going up to a plateau. Fun climbing around the area. Went back to Cliff Shelf for another loop of bird watching. Long drive along I-90 to Chamberlain where we stopped for lunch at Al's Oasis. 5¢ coffee and a beautiful coconut creme pie. Pulled into Mitchell around 7:30PM and checked out the Corn Palace. Looked like rain so we gave tenting a miss and stayed at the Chief Motel ($28). |

1994 | Dick Smith catalogue was put into my pigeon hole and Des kiddingly said I was trying usurp his power and everyone in the Student Office stopped and stared at us. I told him it was probably because I wear ties more often than he does.
1998 | Sa - Russell, Ann, Christopher and Bev came out for a visit. Russell and I watched first half of All Blacks 64 - England 22. Susi, Ian and Matthew over for drinks and a meal. Played Pictionary and gave Ian gifts (bicycle pump) for his 56th. They left early because Susi had to make kakada.
2012 | W - Called dad who told me about going to Wanda, MN for Cracker Days. Fellow in bar took a carton of saltines and proceeded to stomp on the box.

2019 | Th - Listened to the Twins 5 - Indians 4. Kepler had 3 homers. David up from the deep south to find it just as cold here. We played Stone Age, had tacos and then played Castles of Burgundy. Had a babacake.
2022 | M - Completed the Betts portrait while listening to the Twins beat Rays on an Arraez grand slam. AFL: Dockers had the best comeback ever ending The Demons 17 game win streak. Down by 22 they held them to 1 goal in the second half and won 94 - 56 and making 10 in a row themselves (highlights).
2023 | T - Countdown where a skinny telegraph cucumber goes for $6.
