28th	29th	30th
1972	Suva with Murphy. Evening at Haysons to look at slides and played snooker until 1AM.
1973	Ray and David came over for an evening of 500. Gail and I won all games.
1975	Drove out to Tallahassee Shopping Mall, then Hoffsis brought us to a bar that has a giant projection screen and we played an arcade game, Crash Landing. Jim and I went to FSU to play some racquetball. While Gail washed clothes Jim and I sat by the pool and looked through the PCV book. Had a barbecue, played pinochle and had grog while we looked at slides.
1976	Lyn and I, with James Cook teachers (Kay Lions and Jim Leslie) and Chris from Papatoetoe, set up a combined high school basketball and volleyball league.
1979	Th - Lyn Grant (nee Holme - former student and now Gail's co-worker) bought our two single beds.
1982	M - Letter from Wilkins with an article (pg 1, pg 2 and photo) about him surfsailing to Stewart Island.
1983	T - Saw Dr Cumming who wanted a second opinion so I saw Dr Love who said epidimyl cyst. Could take 3 years to heal - but can operate if pain gets more severe.
1986	Sa - Found a 10' aluminum boat, patched up a couple holes and went into the stream that runs through the property. David and Gail rowed/paddled us up the creek around rocks, under tree branches and in among blackberry vines. Went as far upstream as we could then Ne and I paddled us back - 2 hours altogether. Shot some baskets then we went on a bush hike. Over the fence into a sheep paddock and got some great views. Rugged downward trek to a big kauri where we stopped for a snack. Ping pong. Drove into town to check out the wharf and beach. Slept in car while others played in the sand - too cold and windy for me. After supper I brought the kids to the wharf to fish. They each caught a yellow-eyed mullet. Ne brought hers home for Ginger. Ran into Jonathan Clark from Olivetti on the wharf. Played poker and blackjack.
1987	Hunua Falls with Whites, who were very late. Had lunch at the falls. Couldn't do the Cossey Dam as it closed at 4PM, so we just drove around and had a quick look. Back to the Falls, off with the boots and cross the Wairoa River to get to the track [ed. - there is now a large bridge in place]. Steep and only Steve made it to the trig. Most turned back after an hour.
1990	We brought Gail to the airport and she went through security at 8PM.
1991	Filling came out while eating breakfast. Brought party invite to Doug at surgery. I said: "Doug there's an emptiness in my life that only you can fill". Lady told her son: "I better take you out; you shouldn't hear this". Talked to James Mitchell - have moved to Mt Eden. Back to surgery and chatted with Nancy Hawks before Doug filled the hole (part of tooth came out).
2001	Paid rates ($1230).
2002	X-rays of my neck (pinched nerve) in Pukekohe by one-eyed Michael. David got a fruitcake from Ian. Gail made a ceramic fish at night class.
2003	Gail and I went to Needham's for a soak in the hot tub and then a Thanksgiving turkey meal with a lovely Saints 2000 Cab-Sav Merlot. Pumpkin pie with Irish creamed coffee. Out to garage to see the March and Riley that Bob is working on.
2004	Paid our rates ($1393), bought a Warriors cooler bag at Mitre 10 (still using it in 2022).
2009	Su - Ian dropped in to tell us about his S.I. adventure with Ian and Jean Miller.
2011	T - Ian spent the day biking around. We walked along the beach before supper (with an almost perfect Villa Maria '08 Pinot Noir). Ne joined us for an evening of Dominion.
2013	F - Colleen treated us and Ne to lunch at Pacifica Garden Centre and Cafe in Papamoa. Smithers came for a chat with a Clearwater Cove 2013 Sav Blanc. I had a spritzy Stockade Hill 2011 Pinot Noir with the curry meal. Tiramisu cake for dessert. Then while the boys played Alhambra with me Gail taught Dave and Annette Plethora. Our game ended at midnight.
2015	Su - Went to McLaren Falls for a stroll along the water's edge and saw a full range of birds and fowl including a hawk after fledglings on the water. Watched a tui feeding. I discovered that I need reading glasses to see the image on the small screen/viewfinder. Supper then played TTR-Europe. Pumpkin and strawberry pies followed by Euphoria and Dominion.
2018	Th - Russell and Houghton eventually made it at 8PM for a visit. Had a great cake that had choc balls as a layer.
2023	W - Played Terra Nova for the first time with Ne. Then Finca. Get well card from Trish. Gym and pool (12).
