1969 Picked up Gail's engagement ring ($205).
1990 Whites over with KFC for the kids. Susi in a red jump suit. Had a Cooper's Dry before heading off to Porterhouse that is now a smorgasboard. Ian celebrating their three years in NZ. We helped him down a dry Kendermann Black Tower, a smooth '89 Esk Valley Merlot-CabSav and an average Corban's Reisling. Ian smoked the Cuban cigar that I had brought back from the States. We looked at slides of our trip. Hertz wants another $1000 claiming we had the car for three weeks instead of 5 days.
1992 Auckland with Mike Clark. Met Brian McDonnell at Queen's Head tavern where we teamed in a music trivia contest. Fellow from NZ Steel computer dept on a team. Came in third and won our entry fee ($15) plus a pack of beer - ironic as I answered most of the questions and don't drink beer.
1997 M - We lost the 5th as we crossed the International Date Line and landed in Fiji on the 6th. Had an hour in Nadi and I bought a deck of cards for Susi and Tausi play for Ian. Met at airport by David and Ne. Jackie stayed back at the house. Unpacked and gave out goodies. Trish and David came at 2PM with supper, veggies, chips and photo board of Ne's 21st. Story about David getting a haircut: "Then she'll look like a boy". Doug stopped in after work (card). Spent the evening going through mail.
2008 Papakura to see Dr Lazarus, who said my readings are excellent so I treated myself to a Streets Magnum Colombia Aroma Choco-Cappuccino. Then had Brent clean and check my teeth - found a couple cracks, so I'll return to see the lovely Deanna (filling in at reception while Andrea recovers from a broken ankle) and the Columbian, Paula. Waiuku to get meds - 3 month supply of 5 different pills and the cost? $0.00. Some things in NZ are choice.
2010 W - Had a couple Kaka Parrots in the yard.
2012 Sa - email from Vall who says St Paul is out of money. Tried to find the Te Puna Waterfall with the Smithers, but we gave up when advanced scout, Thomas, reported nothing at the end of the trail...? Few signs and no words and we actually did a loop.
2013 Su - When I was planting a lemon tree at 3B I snipped the tip of my left index finger off (snipshot). email from Te - partially settled in and fine at Kaiopoi.
2023 F - Up at 8AM!!!! Listened to the Twins beat Toronto to win first playoff series since 2002. Ethan changed ring on kitchen mixer to fix the leak. Chance that Andrew would show up at 34OC to look at the hot water cylinder. So I shot over there and spent 5 hours mowing, weeding, pruning, repairing fence vine lines and clearing rocks from driveway.
