Su - Michelle and I were singled out to have the honor of carrying the wine and water to the front during Mass and then pouring it into the Chalice. Maybe a sign that we were accepted by the parish (100% Filipinos).
Dennis, David, Doris and I hitched to Hapuna. After a long wait we split up Dennis going with me. We got picked up by a Fiji I instructor who filled us in on the Parker Ranch story [ed. - "biggest" cattle ranch in the world] and gave us beer. Waves were so wicked that my medallion and chain were torn off
while body surfing. On the way back the four of us got as far as Waimea in the back of an army truck. From there it was a lift from teenagers going to Honokaa. We split up there, Dennis and I catching a ride on a laundry truck. |
