Kjell Yri WHY IS THIS LADY LAUGHING??? Click on House card to find out

Yes, that is really his name (Norwegian, eh?). He is a goat lover and author of articles and a novel. Going to Kjell’s 60th was Gail first social outing since the accident. It was held at a community hall up the Awhitu peninsula and was a lovely evening.

Paul Fornusek
We have known Paul since 1976, or more than half his life when he hit 60. He is a fellow Czech and has been back to tthe homeland. He is a member of our Trivial Pursuit group and usually sleeps through the game on the rare times that he can attend. The party was held at the Manurewa RSA.

Gail almost didn’t make it to March 7th this year. So her 60th was doubly special.
It was a two day celebration as on the Friday night we had our Trivial Pursuit group over for a meal, a game and cake. (That's James Harrison holding the cake - he was over from Australia).

Gail got a heap of emails for her birthday. On the day of her birthday Gail and I were joined by Ian and Susi for lunch at Agave which overlooks Karioitahi surf beach and the Tasman Sea. We tried Agavito drinks which were tequila based - or so they claimed, because I couldn't taste any. They (Ian really) gave Gail a barometer-thermometer.

Tracy and Leon stopped in with a gift (shawl/light wrap). Later in the day we were joined by Elaine (plant, special body oil and a necklace) and Stephanie (tiger-eye earrings for Gail) for a visit and meal. Had a nice looking cake that was easy to eat but Gail had trouble blowing out the six candles.

Gail opened her cards and gifts. The loudest would be the clock from Trish that has New Zealand birds chirping on the hour.

60 AND COUNTING

It is 60 days since Gail’s right leg swelled up. The next day she was back in the hospital for intravenous antibiotics for a week. She is still on antibiotics and she can’t move forward until the leg’s sore finally heals. So no swimming. And the trip to Minnesota is postponed. But she is teaching 2 days a week.

“Happy Birthday” sounds so dated. Txters say “hpE Bday” which is close what I sometimes write: “Happy Bday”. Snow White might say “Happy’s Birthday” or “Happy Birthday Happy”.
