13th	14th	15th
1967	Went to Campus Carnival with Kincy and Steve. We took in 3 skits, the Ballyhoos (team dance competition), near-beer and the girls.
1972	Suva with Murph and Bob. Got a dose of Fijian dentistry at Singh's - he only explained what was happening and gave me special toothpaste. Ran into Fuddy Duddy. Had a long talk with Seni who is very upset that Phil is leaving.
1974	Paul dedicated "Oh Carole" to us. Went to Breezes' for a curry meal with the Birches. Chatted while downing sweet Corbans white until 12:30AM - Bill kept nodding off. Heard stories about "Custard's Last Stand" and how Bill was stuck under the shower.
1975	Auckland and got our very first mortgage ($15,000) approved. Audrey brought Janet and Ruth to look at the flat.
1976	Geoff (Pyne) had the black uniforms ready. We won 51 - 35. Perry had 14, Graeme 19 and I had 4 points.
1977	A number of students telling me that they heard my name on AT 40 (see April 10).
1978	F - Everyone telling me that a picture of me in the "Counties Sport" paper. Basketball raffle going well, with boys asking for more books to sell. New gear stick for car ($50). Lawnmower back - governor had been broken. Mrs Dent piling branches to build a wall between us.
1980	M - Called Bob Eddingsaas to get Marv's title. He checked the situation for me and said I was in contention, but they would like local references. Sent their contact info with my letter by Special Delivery. Southdale where I spent an hour with Steve at the CDC learning center. Checked out the PLATO education system - in particular we went through a decimal unit. Visited Gary Olson and met his wife, Joan. He gave me contacts at Honeywell and IBM.
1981	T - Began work at 7AM for the first time so I can get home before David and he doesn't need to go to babysitter, saving us a dollar.
1984	Sa - Schwitters came over and we played "Family Feud". Jenny slept over.
1985	Su - High = 94 °F. Arrived in Sacramento at 6AM to be met by a thin and gray Jim; Wally the same. Jim met the challenge and got all the luggage into his Mazda XL trunk. Small sunrise tour of town and then to their great place for a big breakfast. Jim and I took the kids to a park area. Folsom reservoir where we had a picnic in the 94°F heat. Long drive back due to Sunday traffic. Almost died from the sun on my chest. Everyone except Wally into the complex pool. I went into a hot tub while the kids had races on rafts. Walked to the "river" after supper. Slides of Yosemite and our NZ ones.	hot tub
1997	M - Easter holiday. Fab came to school and updated the hardware inventory and typed up network instructions. Veronica moved in with us and then came to the school. I brought the girls to Goldsmith's [ed. - Fab's host family].
1999	W - Jim, Zelie, Shannon and Carrie arrived in a thunderstorm. One hour giving them a tour. Gin & Tonics followed by a meal.
2000	F - Karioitahi for Christopher's first surfing. Home and into the pool. Ian and Susi visited. Called Peter Goldsmith to pass along birthday wishes. TP at our place.
2002	Su - Tried Joyce's bed but too soft - so not much sleep again. Had a real breakfast with sausage links while browsing the Sunday paper. Joyce much better and RN Brenda thinks she will be able to come home after rehab. She can now speak on the phone and did so to her brother David and sister Kay and Nellie. Spoke to Ne and passed on the good news. Also talked to Prunie, Joyce's neighbor, who also ended in hospital on the same day. Called mom to let her know what's up. RN Carolyn had Joyce up out of bed and onto a chair for 40 minutes.
2010	W - Angi called, concerned about Joyce. Dr Gunn called and told Gail tumor growing again. Listened to the Twins 5 - Red Sox 2 in first game at Target Field. Jason Kubel hit the first homer in it (listen [1.7Mb]©mlb).
2016	Th - Made contact with Brian Bullen (pastor in Kerikeri) after Tim brought him up yesterday.
2018	Sa - Headed out at 12:15PM for Russell's. Made the stadium in time to watch ISP grade team beat Sea Eagles. Russell got us gourmet hamburgers. Peter gave us Enviro-Tabs. Introduced some of the old players. Team lacked spirit and could've won but went down 27 - 18 to Brisbane.
