1985 | T - Drove to Yosemite going through very beautiful rolling hills filled with nut groves and midwest type farms complete with red barns. Beautiful highways that crossed over large man-made resevoirs and into the forrested bigger hills and gold rush territory. Stopped for a picnic at Lake Don Pedro overlook after getting goods in Sonara. Side-trip to Columbia, but it was all closed up until summer. Panoramic scenes as soon as we hit the valley. Many big waterfalls and a few tunnels. Eventually found Army Camp in Curry Village and checked out the tent 40. Walked over to THE falls and let the kids scramble the rocks. Wandered through the glens over many creeks. On the way back we walked right next to a herd of mule deer and coyote. Saw Steller's jays all over. Our tent cabin was next to the ablutions and two tents down was a baby that wouldn't stop crying. Kids in sleeping bags and they slipped from the bed so we moved a dressor to act as a wall. Gail and I had 6 blankets and every piece of clothing we could find. | Stanislaus trolls we came, we saw, we sat see more photos
1987 | Brought home an IBM PS/2 and had my first look at 3.5" disks.
1998 | Th - Peter back from Paihia. Doug over, but Clarks didn't come for supper. So we went there for dessert and caiprihnas. Mike and Peter discussed Brazilian sports - Peter was a race car driver.
2004 | Went to Signal Point on the South Head of the Hokianga harbor. Drove to Labyrinth Woodworks where we had a lunch, being watched by a calico dog. Ian found few takers of his coconut flavored sunflower seeds. Tried the maize maze, had to find 10 letters and then make a phrase: "Giant Brain". Then Louis Toorenburg entertained with some of the magic tricks/puzzles that he had for sale. Did the track to the Waiotemarama Falls, the two kids running ahead. Bridge, and Ian was teaching Sally - unfortunately, her very first bid was doubled and redoubled and she was set. Probably, the worst possible start. I was the hottest I have been in many a year, getting the cards and getting the finesses. Had a taste of Ian's dry Jackman Ridge Cabernet-Merlot. | Point Don't Slip! mazing Gail |
