1969 Watched Chris in the "Sound of Music" at St. Anne's with Mom, Bob and Nana.
1970 The teachers were gone by the time I got up, so I had breakfast under Eseteri's guidance. She said I was like a Fijian because I have large pores. She gave me a telanoa about how one night she heard someone outside of her quarters, which is why she doesn't stay there anymore and it was available to me. We became instant friends and she is now my Fijian mother. In the afternoon we put the play on for students of LPS. Mr. Donnelly would only excuse those with a ticket, so Frank had to teach his class of 4. We had a show in the evening for the public.
1980 Su - Dick, David and I went to Twins game and watched them rout the A's 20-11. 42 hits (boxscore). Sat on first base line in second deck. David was given a Twins jacket and I bought him a plastic helmet. Peanuts 60¢, Coke® 75¢, beer $1.50 and hot dogs 90¢ [ed. they sold for 25¢ in 1963]. David was busy taking everything in, not just the game. Enthralled with the clapping and footstomping (deck shook accordingly). He said it was naughty that people kept foul balls - teams might want them back. Got pizzas on way home.

 Sa - Got up early so Ian could get the van into Nausori for repairs by 7:50AM. We got there at 8:35AM! We hung around outside MH's until 10:20AM. Drove to "The Land". King's Highway is now sealed a bit further along and is being levelled and straightened all the way to Korovou, where we stopped. Watched some Fijians play a lively game of Last Card, bought curry and got a photo of the New Musai Bhai and Sons store with the old store attached. "Tamavua Shopping Center" is a small tin shack. All bures have been replaced with wooden walled-tin roof structures. Saw Domo at Burelevu and he was a complete stranger - had been 9 years. Did a quick run around QVS. Ian has 19 acres and it is a great spot with fantastic views of Qoma, Naigani, Tova Peak etc... House is nice with running water, indoor shower, veranda and outdoor kitchen. There is a second wooden "bure" that Ian built and a dog named Jimmy. Susi's cousin, Seru, and Seriana (she used to sell moli to me in '70-'72) watch the place for them. Went down for a swim on Ian's very private beach. Tide was going out so we just lazed about, then took the kids shelling. Filled a bag including cowrie and ogoli. Steve and Douglas joined us from QVS and were doing a high jump on beach. Saw Hargrove's plot of land across the road and higher up. Comes dark and the Coleman lanterns go on and the boys went back to QVS. Seru pounded up some yaqona and we drank on the porch. David was the server. Gave White my long telanoa about selling our house. Gail and I had the luxury of mosquito net, kids slept in the front room on beds and the Whites slept in the bure.

Qoma - Ovalau
1987 Not well so I stayed home. Gail went to town. I was in bed with no radio on. So it was quiet in the house when the doorbell went. I was in my pajamas and didn't feel like getting up so I ignored it. Then there is a knock at the back door, so I got up and peeked around the corner and a big Maori fellow tried to bash it in, so I made my presence known and he fled.
2002 Gail and I went to Granite Mountain, outside Prescott, and did Clark Spring Track. 1.8 mile hike rising up from the Granite Basin Lake area to a crest and then down between Two Rock Mountain and Little Granite Mt and finally it follows along the dry bed upstream, so never did find the "spring". Ran across a rounded-tail horned lizard.

2005 Switched to broadband (256Kb) today.
2011 W - Brought David to Ne's where we met up with Steph. Lunch at the Cock and Bull. Brought cakes (from Coffee Club) back to Ne's. Then airport.
2012 F - Jill over for a visit.
2013 Sa - Sandy and Mike dropped in for lunch with Ian. So we had a good catch up on the changes in our families. Then it was petanque with Ian, David and Anna. After supper (with an excellent Rosemount '10 Cabsav) it was an evening of Dominion.
2022 W - Drew Marlon Brando in "Godfather" - first sketch in 6 years. Jeffrey Craigen was imprisoned for doing a haka nude on a Bali scared mountain (photo). AFL: Crows big upset over Tigers (101 - 82).
