1970 Began my first MOD (Master on Duty) week. Each teacher takes a turn for a week at a time. I had to get up at 5:30AM to wake the boys at 5:45AM and force them to work until breakfast, supervise that and chase them up to the Chapel and from there to school. After school try to supervise 300 boys cutting grass all over the place.
1984 Sa - Removed plastic from the ranch-slider. [ed. - Minnesota winters: we tape thick sheets of plastic around the windows and doors (inside and outside) to reduce the heat loss from the houses and to stop drafts].
1994 Middlemore called and said I can have my knee operation. I had it done privately, 7 months ago.
2000 F - Listened to the Twins for the first time on the Internet.
2014 M - Played Ticket to Ride (Germany) after lunch. Then Dominion and Survive. Bev and I went to Taylor's to get her Jamaica and Castle Panic games. And at 5PM Gail brought them to the bus.
2018 Sa -12 hour Warriors day - 1PM to 1AM. Roadworks on 29A had me doing 3Km in 16 minutes. Stopped in Matamata to get cheap grapes at New World and a coffee which I drank while reading a Listener. 162 Km to Russell's (25Km shorter than to Papakura). Full house (25,600) meant we had to park way down and had a very long walk up. Since it was a double header we met Peter outside to get tickets. He offered us next to stadium Executive parking for $50 and we jumped at it. The seats were 5 rows higher than normal making the players a bit smaller, eh? Tigers beat Melbourne by 1 in a poor game where neither team wanted to win. I got us kebab wraps. Warriors played extremely well again and beat Cowboys 22 - 12 (highlights). Took us 21 minutes to get out of carpark to main street. Made it home from Russell's in 1hr 50min.
2022 Th - 80 minute walk to Bayfair (found 20¢ => $11.60). Then when filling Ne's tires I found a US 10¢. AFL: Showdown 51. Crows should have been blown away by Power but they won it with an after the siren goal by Jordan Dawson. (ending).
