1967 | Up very early to drive to Souix Falls, SD for Battle of the Bands to support "The Poor Souls". Drove my convertible with top down; Sue Olson, Stephanie, Mustain and Lyle had to suffer the wind. Got there at 11:30AM and listened to some of the bands. We found the guys and they were having nothing but trouble and didn't to play until 5:30PM and by then there was hardly any people around. There were a few mistakes but thought that they were still the best group there. Hung around until 10PM to find out they didn't win. Great band with horn section from Kansas City won (best version of "Land of 1,000 Dances" I ever heard). On the long drive back everyone slept and I listened to the Monkees who had taken over KDWB in Mpls. Home around 3AM. |

1968 | Mom and Chris over to check out my university apartment. She left Chris to stay the night. We walked around the campus and did the Museum of Natural History. Played cards.
1975 | Softball in the morning. Whist and 500 with Bob and Kay all afternoon. I was on the losing team for most of it. Bob complaining about lack of communication. After supper I left Gail and David there. Stopped at Roe's Indian Trading Post in Pipestone and got souvenirs. |

1980 | Su - Winkys for brunch, then beautiful downtown Pittsburgh. First stop: the Duquesne Incline which we took up (30¢ each way) and from the there we could see the three rivers, Allegheny, Monongahela and Ohio and the Golden Triangle. Back down and over to "The Point" where the kids got soaked from the spray of a gigantic fountain. We were on a barge upon which an orchestra plays to people seated on the Point when we heard a mighty boom. A historic society was re-enacting a French and Indians War battle. We were able to get right up close. In fact, the red coats made a banonet charge right at us and stopped abruptly a couple feet from us and David was frightened. I think I was shot seven times. Gus over for supper and we all played soccer. Slides after kids went to bed. Discovered that we had lost a hubcap to one of Pittsburgh's many potholes. | Ne-Paula more photos |
1983 | W - Stroms and Schwitters over for a barbecue. I burnt the hamburgers on the Weber and David was busy trying to keep the flames down with a squirt gun.
1984 | F - Picked up Gail from hospital and had lunch at Embers. Jan brought over a lovely "coffee" cake. House being shown so we went to the new miniature golf place in Newport.
1997 | Su - Day 27 of our 3 month journey around the world. See 1997 Trip Photo Journal.
2003 | Gail counted 24 different (types) flowering plants and it is winter here!
2009 | M - Steve's to farewell Jackie and Brad. I also gave out birthday gifts (fun to look at the photos on the CDs) Had a spicy great '06 R&B Merlot-Syrah. Rahini came by walking her dog, Yoda, as Ian and I were comparing cars.
2011 | W - Went to Colleen's for lunch, get a photo of her car and show her how to send it via email. Went through 106 with Marie to find out what she wanted to sell. Long time signing contracts.
2018 | F - Up at 11AM. Gail made two pumpkin pies - the photo represents how every pie and cake she makes shows up at the table. I won Terraforming Mars by one point so I get a whole pie to myself. After sloppy joes we played King Ludwig. Gail off to bed and we played "Lewis & Clark". When Ne left David and I split a couple games of Plethora.
