1964 | 2nd day of orientation at U and I was bored with it, so I left early and never went back for rest of the week. Saw Signe with ORANGE hair (bad dye job) and had to ask her out. Went with Steve and Debbie to Good Neighbor Sam at the Mann Southtown Theater's grand opening.
1968 | I went home for a meal with Angi (home from Marines). Bob and Dana also came over.
1970 | Phil brought pills for Ghetto and showed me how to print films. [ed. when a proper red bulb is not available we simply covered the kitchen light with a plastic red bucket].
1971 | Hargrove gave us a lift to Lodoni wharf where Taru came to say "hi" - me thinks he loves Bonnie. Was a good trip over in hot sun and a cool breeze. The Yatu Lau is twice as large as the Blue Lagoon. People were let off at spots onto waiting boats and the tourists on board thought it was exciting. David and Kelera met us at the Levuka wharf. Over to the only hotel, the Royal, and it never occured to me that a reservation might be needed. Luckily, it was owned by Trivina's family. She was there and fixed us up with a couple of newly refurbished and very clean rooms - hot showers. Gave Bonnie the grand tour. Took in the war memorial and cession stones, into a couple shops. Climbed the hill (191 steps) to the principal's house at the school and got a great view. That wore me out, so I had a nap when we got back. Down to eat and we found Jim, a couple dogs and a few cats in the dining room. Met David and Kelera at the Cinema Levuka. Backless wood benches and I had a pillar in front of me. It was crowded and hot and a double feature! Saw Bogart movie and Badmans Territory. | Wharf Memorial Royal Beach St |
1972 | Hiked with Ian and Rufus to Nemena. Had to cross the river three times. Ian left his keys in the trunk and a couple boys brought them to us and put us onto the correct track. Not much of a view once we got there. Taru, Baghat and Gurmal came over in the evening and we played Chinese Checkers.
1975 | Barbecue with Mom at the river in Dawson. We beat the first place team 36-32. I played 4 innings at 2nd. Got a single and double in three trips. Got 2 rbi's and scored once.
1995 | I am such a regular that the Indian veggie lady at New World told me that I was late today.
1997 | Th - Day 31 of our 3 month journey around the world. See 1997 Trip Photo Journal.
2002 | Helped mom pick red currants. After supper I went with Bob to visit his 83 yr old sister, Stella (asked me six times how long I was here), her husband, Harvey (81) and their daughter, Barb, who lives next door with her collie, Katie. Had a very nice '99 La'Forve Syrah. | What'cha doin? |
2003 | Listened to the Twins 10 - Orioles 9 in 10 innings. Tied score in bottom of the tenth with 2 out when Restovich struck out, but ball got by catcher and then the throw to first was dropped allowing the run to score.
2004 | Gail and I joined Ann and Russell for another trip to Ericsson Stadium to watch the Warriors throw another game away, this time to Broncos. Asked other regulars to see if they wanted to get together to buy a season box - but at $3,000/person it is beyond our wildest. So we'll stay in the $360 seats.
2011 | Su - A couple ladies trimmed our rosemary and gave us $40 for the stuff. Played Dominion after supper.
2013 | W - Gail and David went to Auckland for an interview in Henderson. Petanque with Ash and Anna. Dominion.
2016 | Su - Finally no rain. so after doing a wash I walked and according to my new Nabu-X, I did 3.55mi (5.77Km) in 85 minutes using 9,729 steps. Watched Warriors beat Titans (highlights).
2022 | Su - email from Cheryl (Bob Wandersee died). Listened to the Twins walkoff Blue Jays in 10 innings while finishing Carson portrait. AFL: Port came from 40 down to lose by 8 to Freo (Lobb had 5). 2nd place Cats beat 1st place Demons 91 - 63.
