1961 High = 19°F. Turned in raffle ticket money (me $3, total $13) a total of $412. We had reached our quota ($10/student) and get tomorrow off. Bowling league: 111, 119, 124. I tried spot bowling and got a 166 and 149.
1970 First official day of school - most boys arrived over the weekend and others straggled in during the week. No teaching this week - maintenance of fields and buildings, which is probably why they are in no hurry to get here.
1972 Staff meeting. Elected Avenisa Tolevu as Head boy and Joji Tuwai, deputy. Then 20 more prefects. Finished the library inventory. House meeting - let Bob come along and made him an honorary member of Rewa. I ran around the rara with the boys in preparation for athletics.

1973 Gail got a Special Ed job at Edmund Hillary School. Mr Brown put in a very small mirror in bathroom (mirrors hard to find and very expensive). Dinette and bed were delivered in afternoon and fridge came at 7:30PM, so we went shopping at Super Valu. Met an American at a liquour store and we saw Fijian boys in town. Lost $10 note on way home, but retraced steps and found it. Bobbi and Jo over to help us clean chalk/dust off of windows at the flat.
1974 Walked to Sanders' Scott St flat to watch Commonwealth Games. John Walker came second in 1500m to a Tanzanian, Filbert Bayi, (the race was shown around ten times during the day). Both men breaking the world record.
1976 16 new staff - 1070 students. Jerkovich stressed discipline, Barry went over his forms. At morning tea Graeme Hooper told about his yachting experiences on Quando. Simon helped me get a sofa and chairs using Benson's trailer. Returned trailer and went to the Jolly. Upset McDonnell when I busted in on his table with Chris Beale and Phillipa Lewin. Maguire told me that he and Walker used to see a good looking girl on a horse during their runs - it was Phillipa.
1982 T - S2K training. I continued to do well and answer many questions. On one quiz question Lou gave us an answer, but I told him mine (PR/TREE/C100/...) was better and he agreed saying he was really impressed and that it was "slick". Tom said I was a "Technical Expert". Lou said: "If anyone has any questions..." and Cathy interrupted saying: "Ask John".
1986 Su - Most of the day under the house as I spliced into power line going into David's room and put a powerpoint into the den (which didn't have one!). Cleaned out garage but car won't fit because of the tow bar. Gail broke a kitchen window while shutting it (they have so many coats of paint [7] that you need to pull really hard). I boarded it up.
1992 Walked to Kelvin Road School where Gail was setting up her room. Dressed up to protect myself and removed the wasp hive from the ivy.
1997 Su - Brought girls to Opoutere. Gail bleached the fridge - David had turned the power off. Had a nice visit with Ernie, Lena (her dog is Spot) on way to the beach. Wicked waves eating away the beach made for great rides.
2001 Titania didn't sleep because of a mosquito that bit her 26 times. Checked out the surf in Whangamata but there wasn't much. We walked the town, ate our ice cream cones and back to Opoutere. Dropped Titania off in Pukekohe.
2002 Doug and Marcia over a swim and meal while quaffing an exceptional Selak's 2001 reisling, a so-so Jackman Ridge chardonnay but an excellent JR shiraz cabernet.
2004 Organized Yuki's stay for next few days. Played Chinese Checkers then looked at photos while having cake.
2023 Th - The shed was taken down. Bunnings where they didn't have the lawnmower which the website said they did. AA to get a battery for the Jazz ($237).
