1962	W - Up at 5:45AM to catch a ride to De with Gene Newstrom, who leaves for work at 6:30AM. So I now only watch first half hour of "The Jack Paar Show" to be in bed by 11PM. Tonight the guest host was Sam Levison with guests: Betty Furness and Casey Anderson.
1963	First ride in the carpool (25¢/day) to De and it was murder - 9 guys - Peine sat on me. On the way home we had 10 guys! Howard is a very loose driver, on lawns and always close to death. Lady from school called and asked me to draw posters.	Tom P
1964	Watched The Jack Paar Show and he had a film of The Beatles performing in England (see it).
1970	Hawaii: Details in Peace Corps Journal.
1971	New bursar, Daya came with his wife, Doli, and two daughters - Desli and Sunitha. Poor Rams, closed all their windows (security/fear) and its bloody hot. Jone came home with a pie so I made coffee and we ate it.
1974	Billiards win after lunch. Won at darts. Sanders over for billiards/snooker and chat until midnight. Told us about running into bikies while camping in Canada and about parties in Tauranga.
1975	Sanders over for an evening of margaritas and slides. Ian demonstrates how to drink tequila ===>
1976	Had BRIM decaffeinated coffee and it was worse than instant. Ian and I brought empty milk bottles to tuck shop where we met Isikeli Dau. Played bridge until 5PM. Brought Susi to the beach so she could fish and met Hargrove's parents there. Roqica passed by on his way to Netani's and we had a few words. Jeneti stopped in looking for a ride back to the village. Susi came back with 8 fish which we had for supper. Watched a "Vision America" film then looked at Ian's slides.
1977	Doug visited. Went for a run to Aldies and dropped off an ad for a strip club in St Paul.
1978	T - Mom and I visited Aldies. Found our Christmas decorations in the garage behind the Coleman lamp! Ne runs and gets everyone for chow whenever Gail begins cooking.
1981	Sa - David brought a bag of new clothes out to the dumpster by mistake. JC Penny Christmas party at Lake Elmo VFW. Sat with Irene and Lloyd, an older couple who live in McKnight Village. She was a talker. Then there was Fonda (JC Penny Shoe center) and Merle Olson (Target). They live on a farm in Lake Elmo. Sandy who told us about her labrador. After the meal joke prizes were given out. Gail given a prize for "always smiling on the job". There was a band with bags over their heads and they could only play one tune. Luckily there was a disco jockey spinning records. Gail won a door prize: bottle of wine.
1982	Su - Reitans, Sue and her one-year old boy, Aaron, Bill and Shirley and Gail's folks over for a big meal for Joyce's birthday. Found out that Warren is a big time gardner. Looked at slides.
1984	Exciting game of canasta with Dieffenbach at lunch. Scraped snow from house roof. Real heavy due to the melting in the heat and so hard to pull.
1986	F - Fellow water blasted the house and now there is paint all over. Water got in through most of the windows too, and there is a mess inside. Doug called to moan about djs' lack of interest in Rick Nelson dying today.
1987	Swingball, croquet, volleyball and golf with the kids. Made a course using the long planks we found under the house. Had a barbecue and then we played jarts.
1989	Sanders dropped in. John and Sheryl left around 10:30AM. They left behind their fishing reels.
1992	Aldies to get hay for the guinea pig and pick plums. Met James' friend, Richard Appleby. Trish ill from cough medicine. Planted tangelo. Pruned orange. Darts with Gail.
1995	David and I brought cousins into Auckland and went around the bays. Lunch at Burger King at Mission Bay. Rachel had to go onto the playground equipment as they don't exist in Jakarta. Did Kelly Tarlton's with the new Antartic display (but no penguins). Liked the seahorses and piranha. Got a plastic manta ray for Dad. Picked up Ne and Gail and put on a Goofy tie. Sizzler's. Sanders over for an excellent '92 Gallo Grenache rosé and '93 Babich Pinot/Cab.
1998	Sa - Gail and I went surfing. Whites where we went into neighbors pool with Ian and Jackie. Played Upwords, had a meal and then Italian Grand Prix and bridge.
1999	Gail and I took Sim Road to get to Beals' which turned into a mud track at one stage. Gave Ong a Goofy mousepad. Robert, a Dutchman, came with his Thai son (5th former at Rosehill, but I never could write or say his name). Robert is a baker with many interesting stories. Briar Archibald came - they had Ana Taga with them for a term and live near Beals. Sheryl Munro showed up. Alez (Jewish Egyptian boy) and Kelly (Asian girl) also came by to farewell Ong. Beals have a strangely designed house in the works. Was a tearful goodbye for us. Aldies to welcome Trish back from Timaru. Stayed for supper (an acidic Villa Maria '95 Sav Blanc) and looked at photos of Doug's staff do.
2000	Kathy and Mike (in their new '94 Ford white station wagon) came for coffee by the pool. Told us about kittens Ti and Bo. Ian and Steven D came for a swim, so Gail and I joined them. Whites for the Italian Grand Prix. I was last the whole race. Played Carrom.
2001	Elaine gave me a Goofy-on-a-book for my computer services. Audrey's: grubbed a few thistles, had a cuppa while she told me about Tom's death in Nov. Gail and I had a swim - right knee still painful.
2002	Card (41st) and photo from Fred who advises us to dance away our aches and pains. Ian and Jackie came over for a swim (he did two laps under water for the first time) and stayed for supper. Ne slept in tent so she can spend night with her cat, Fatso.
2003	email from Trish saying her mom is in ICU. Susi came over with Domo's kids for a swim. Gail and I picked up a freshly shaven Ian (perfume) and brought him to Mike and Ann's for TP. Kitten, Mishka, non-stop all over the place.
2004	Postcard from cousin Steve in Bombay who has a car with driver and doesn't take the train to work. Mini-Whites over for a swim, as did Bob and Elaine. They gave Gail a sulu and a cruise hat to me. Shrimp creole meal with Stephanie joining. Heard about cruise to Vanuatu and New Caledonia.
2005	Paul and Irene visited.
2006	email from Oberg, who drives a Zamboni. Gail picked up the free toy Dyson vacuum at Harvey Norman's. Laps (pool up to 26°C). Made up a birthday card for Inez.
2008	First pool laps of the summer. Was priming wood trim in bathroom when the paint can bottom rusted through.
2012	T - emails: Bev (Xmas), Smith (grant of £970,000 and needs help eh?), Shirley DeV (alien on Canadian coin), BBHQ weekly newsletter, Club VIP Casino, video from Steve W and a TradeMe Feedback.
2014	F - Card and calendar from Jane F. Emery arrived around 5PM with a Mamaku bluberry wine that we had with supper. A lot of catching up on her yard, the bach and Russell's situation with the loss of his contract. After supper we played Survive.
2016	M - Kathy came at 3:30PM and went for a walk with Gail. Supper with Kathy and a 2014 Seifried Gerwurztraminer.
2017	T - Gail and I scored over 850 in our Scrabble game.
2018	W - Gail saw Giles and was told that she might have the rare Infiltrative Cardiomyopathy.
2020	F - Ne's laptop arrived so spent the day doing that. Card from Angi. Card and letter from Eliason. Did a lot of yardwork. 34OC to do the routine and pick up netting for our tomato plant. Terraforming after a jalapeno pizza supper.
2021	Su - Decided this year to read every communication and put any detail gleaned in the Malley-Pedia. So I don't get much of anything else done. Began cleaning master bath. 3rd straight night at gym and pool. Watched Mechanic Resurrection.
2022	M - Up at 11:55AM. Day 136 of Delta/Omicrom lockdown (1530 cases). Watched Minnesota win the Guaranteed Rate Bowl beating West Virginia 18 to 6. Biked to 34OC to mow and the usual stuff. Watched Yesterday.
2023	T - Bayfair jammed so I ended up parking on the 3rd level of the ramp. Streets also congested with all the summer tourists. Couple games of Catan: C&K. email and photos from Fab (after 8 years).
