1963	Great getting a ride both ways to/from school. We locked Dan Sullivan, Peine and John Bjerke out and they kicked the car.

1971	Letter from Margie (had been delivered to Okinawa by mistake). Met Doli. When Jone got home we hooked up his radio to the big speaker. I heard Taniela L speak today....amazing! Lenati and Koroi's boys made a percussion band complete with bell and hit the road about 10PM.
1972	Letter from Mankato State education director who is interested in seeing me. Called Judy G and she sounded super. Visited Gary Olson and his mother, Annie, in Richfield.
1973	Waiting for Seru, but Lenati said the truck wasn't going in. I got Daya to write up orders for food supplies and talked Jo into approving the truck to go get them. Isireli drove us in. Mr Jovis, Immigration Officer, at NZ embassy said we couldn't get approval until the end of the month (government shuts down at Christmas for a month). Picked up the Kenwood Jumbo and speakers at Gokal's. Eliki helped carry the stuff to the truck (since it wouldn't fit into a car). Geoff and Toga helped set up the stereo and I taped his Deep Purple album. They stayed the evening and Whites came over to see the monster blasting from our lounge.	Isireli Geoff
1974	Simon came; he had just gotten his car off a ship. Drew cartoons. Walked up to St Mary's school to have a look for Comet Kohoutek with no luck, but did catch a satellite zoom across.
1976	Picnic on Qomalailai Island via Ian's boat. While Gail read, we walked around the western side playing hide and seek with the boys. Boated around the islands and looked at live coral (video). Played bridge until we got tired of the Tilley lamp going out.
1977	Put up a sign on front door prior to Aldies arrival. Set up a table in lounge so I can type and watch the boob tube.
1978	W - Gail and I walked to Green's Travel where we rented a Mazda. Left at noon and Ne started crying straight away, so I had to move into the back. Stopped at Cambridge for a snack. And again at the road house south of Tirau. Stopped at the tourist centre in Rotorua and got to Fisherman's Lodge around 6PM. Nice cottage with a view of Lake Tawawera. After we unpacked it was Rotorua for Pizza Hut. I went with the kids on a bumper car ride at a small carnival on the lake front. Ne and I slept in a tent.
1981	Su - Maplewood Mall. Bought Beatles Trivia Quiz Book at Dalton's. On the way home we went through Lake Elmo, Baytown and other small townships. Back same time that Towns returned the kids. We had cake and gave Joyce her birthday gifts. David said he couldn't get to sleep last night because the two girls, Joyce and Ne, were talking in bed.
1984	Last day driving to work with Fran; I gave her a bottle of whiskey. "Night Court" episode All You Need is Love.
1985	F - Libby and Frank late as usual. Had a meal (okay Taylor's Chablis) and then looked at their slides from Paris and Venice.
1986	Sa - Went to Clark's housewarming on Snell. Wore my pink shirt since Mike had mentioned he'd be wearing his. Met Sandy's sisters: Susan (husband Peter headmaster at Te Hihi), Stephanie (John) and Sonya. A lot of their friends had spent good times at 29 King Edward, so I got introduced as the landlord. Leighton, Margorie, Fiona, Chris, a couple teachers from Pakauranga, Mike's former secretary and Brian McDonnell (so we got up a music trivia session). Sandy actually got me to dance with her - out in the dark to Bruce Springsteen "Dancing in the Dark" - I swear, its true.
1988	Called Tom. They had been to see my mother last night who thinks she is going to tag along with them to NZ.
1994	Brought Tracy back and met Susi's cousin, Bogi (Paulini). Took Matthew and Jackie to crowded beach where Doug and Graeme were packing up windsurfer gear due to lack of wind. I got around 15 rides. White's for yaqona with Nina, Ameni, Neli, Susi and a lady from Lautoka with her grandsons, Abraham and Sakiusa. Erica brought Granny back from Woolie's. Bridge til 11PM.
1995	Cuzzies to Papakura where Rachel got new shoes. Lunch at Georgie Pie. We all brought Ne to work and then home to pack. Brought them to the airport (off to Sydney). Postcard from Steve in London saying they are on their way! Ian test drove our Mitsubishi to compare it to a Toyota Crown that Navind has for sale.
1997	Drew "Blast" birthday card. Bought 200 floor tiles for the kitchen. We walked to the PO Box. Laid tiles in the walk-in. Removed the kitchen door (permanently).
2001	email from Ian in Hong Kong querying price of Opium (the perfume) in NZ duty free ($NZ85 for 50ml). Berthe came over for the first time and we played Upwords outside in the beautiful sunny weather. Renee won and Berthe using her Christmas gift Scrabble dictionary came last. Doug had a swim and then we played Scattergories - Artists named "David" and songs with "Why" in title. I just won by one point.
2003	Kathy visited. White mob arrived for the pool invasion. Doug, Marcia, Toby, Kay and Jazz arrived around 5PM. After a swim with Doug I opened my birthday gifts: Colgate battery powered toothbrush that is a handy drink mixer and a RIU magazine. We downed a Firstland '99 chardonnay that was quite mellow. Toby and Kay just back from Laos (son Doug is US Ambassador) where they were entertained by belly dancers at a party given by the French Ambassdor. Susi and Ian over for a meal and the Hungarian Grand Prix fueled with Lindemans 2002 shiraz cabernet.
2006	Sent dad's 1936 photo with horses to Country EXTRA magazine for the "The Way It Was" feature. Ian stopped in with eggs (tray given to them by some Fijians).
2009	Smithers visited. After downing a Hardy's Chardonnay I was in the pool with the boys. He who had the bucket reigned. After coffee and fruit loaf the males played pool.
2011	T - Brad and Jackie dropped into say "goodbye".
2014	Sa - After lunch we walked to summit of Moturiki Island with Emery. We played basic Carcassonne before and after supper.
2017	W - Colleen over for a shrimp/crayfish Newburg meal (excellent Selaks 2013 Pinot Noir) and to look at cruise slide show and then her photos. Watched Allegiance.
2019	F - Got to Bev's and met her daughter, Kath, who left and Jon came over to learn Castles of Burgundy. After a chicken meal we played a couple games of Azul. Left early with a couple boxes of children's books.
2023	W - Earthquake at Te Aroha had 5:40AM had my bed moving back and forth for around 5 seconds. Up at 11:20AM. email to Paul. Card and newsletter from Newsy. Farm Street for a B12 from tall Juliet. Pathlab where Rose took blood.
2024	Th - Walked to Farm Street where cheerful Charlotte said red spot on my arm is not cancerous and we will up my amytrip. Walk - 75 minutes. Russell called from Geraldine, his car blew up on him in Wellington. Finished compiling Top 100 of 1979
