Darrell's lake home: Jim Michaels drove up in the morning. I sprained my ankle and wrist (ending my participation for the weekend), slipping on rocks on basketball court in Warba.
That night after poker (I lost 32¢) Dan got so drunk that he put on the black girdle we gave him and then jumped into the lake; later he ate a live moth sandwich between two pickle slices.
When he tried to eat the second one with a wingspan of 3", he heaved. My foot kept me awake all night, so I was up and was able to observe Dan pouring beer on a sleeping Les.
He blasted records until he passed out and then the record player was stuck and wouldn't rise, so there was a monotonous repeating scratch/click. Didn't bother anyone else as they probably all had passed out. I had to crawl (sprained ankle) in the dark to find it. Don't click! |

Back home from Darrell's lake home. Peace Corps invited me to serve in Fiji - so I immediately had to find out where it was. So Neil and Buzz weren't the only ones "on the moon" today. |

Su - Helped Wandersee take his barber chair apart (so he could get it into his car). Everyone went to the New Ulm Heritage Parade which lasted 90 minutes and was too much for Bob.
We, with Jeff D along, followed the Haalas to their farm (Ne's helium balloon escaped out the car window). After looking around we drove 2½ hours to Hansen's near Hills, MN.
After supper we shot baskets until after dark. Bob and I stayed until 1AM talking sports. |

Sa - Nadine and Martin came. Martin too ill to eat so he stayed in the living room, so Ne ate with us but she didn't get any of the'82 Nobilo dry red.
We taped Nadine's ravings. Got Martin to explain a little about his job and his skindiving (tape). |

Onto plane in Brisbane at 12:30PM and served a meal before screening the boring Cosby movie, Leonard Part 6. Kids spent the whole flight playing the Casio sampler. We got straight through customs and were out on the curbside at 6:20AM, waiting for Ian who never came (ill). Doug came instead and he brought us to their place for a cup of tea.
Picked up the video, TV and mice. Stopped in to say "hi" to Mike at work and got Cabby from Pet Motel where he stayed as a "family" member for $237.
Mark Simpson called to invite us to a casino night at his place. |

David went to Mathex to represent Rosehill. |

Went to Smorgy's with Sanders. Very loud. Had an ordinary Seaview Burgundy. |

Su - Day 13 of our 3 month journey around the world. See 1997 Trip Photo Journal. |
1998 |
M - Up at 8:17AM!, so David could give me a lift to Pukekohe to get van from Makesh. $80 to remove rust. Rosehill wearing a three piece suit now that I am a consultant, but doing the same job.
Everyone surprized to see me, having been farewelled at the end of last term. Interviewed Jill S and Karen McC and got things going on the library network. Don said he would pay me for any extra work I did around the school until they got a new technician. |
2001 |
Up at 11AM to see Ne off (going to Tirau with Berthe and Janet) and there was Brundell, so had my coffee with him. TP at Houghton's. Needhams brought me $C1000 from Canada, Gail got a teeshirt and Ne red licorce. |
|
2005 |
Gail and I had supper at Brundell's. Lynn has emphysema and is pissed off with everything. |
2022 |
