1958	Little League (Louisville) - lost to Mpls 7 - 6. Played 2nd and short. Went 4 for 4.
1959	Stopped at Tom Tom and bought everyone a Popsicle. [ed. - 5¢ each and splitable into two - March 11, 1986 Popsicle announced the end of the twin stick]. Dentist drilled away an overlap from my upper two front teeth.
1967	North Star Lake: Rained, so we went to Grand Rapids for supplies. Hauled the logs down to the water, but not enough of them for a raft to hold all three of us. That's mosquito netting on my hat. see photos
1972	Helped Ian make a slingshot to shoot the counterfeit Woody. Chow at White's and played Aggravation until Bob brought me to my stag party. Played Passout. Partnered up: me, Jemesa and Jo; Bob, Kini and Epeli; Murph and Breeze; Dick, Seru and Ian. Jo got plastered and Murphy was funny as hell. Bob got me home around midnight.
1975	Ozone watches for Mpls on radio. Put up screens on lower level of house. There is a haze over southern Minnesota - the famous LA smog is in middle America. Grocery shopping at Dean's Red Owl in Dawson. Dropped Gail off at Nicky's laundromat (and groceries on Highway 212).
1979	Sa - Heaviest frost since we have been in NZ. Fish pond frozen. Kathy and Lia visited. Petrol siphoned from car (in hindsight probably the 2nd time).
1985	Sa - Nadine and Martin stopped in with their new collie pup, Snoopy.
1987	Varney showed me the letter that requests my promotion to Manager and a company car [ed. - took 3 years and my threat to quit 3 or 4 times before I got a car in 1990].
1988	OZ trip: Canberra. Go to Trip Report
1991	Got to Rotorua at 1PM. After a meal at McDonald's we went to see Okere Falls and Hinemoa's Steps with its small cave. Checked into a chalet at Wylie Motor Court ($100) and went for a long swim in the heated pool, then a plunge into the spa in our chalet (video). Walked to the Strike Zone bowling alley and threw a couple lines - David beat me in the first and Ne got her personal high. Gail and I upstairs and kids downstairs (video).	Hinemoa's
1997	M - Trish stopped in with a gift for Eva. Nick called - had a breakdown on Friday and is having the rest of the year off. Vicki called. Kathy S called. Whites over at 8PM with map of Arron and we had an very good Selaks '96 Private Bin Red. Gave Jackie the Couch Potatoe game. We gave David a car cover, Star Wars figures. Cake. Gail gave me a card.
1998	T - Don Rolle offered me a contract to install the library networks. Whites over for the British Gran Prix race.
2000	F - Ian (with blonde hair) went with us to TP at Mike's. Totally engrossed in Wrestling Ernest Hemingway.
2001	Whites stopped in with LIM on Valley Road house. They went to Needham's with Gail to visit Ne - Susi stayed overnight.
2002	Gail gave me a pewter cross on chain. We went to the Outback Steakhouse and were actually surprized to find it was an Australian concept. But they had baseball on the TVs in the bar area. I had the Ripper Shrimp with Jackeroo Chops that came with a heated marmalade sauce, Gail had Grilled Shrimp on the Barbie with a steak and Joyce went for Chicken on the Barbie. Had to give the receptionists a hard-time about the kiwi on display.
2004	We walked the beach from the river to surf club - bit chilly and a headwind. Back to bach and after a rest we did the downtown strip - Gail looking for a beanie. Wandered upstairs to discover it wasn't a gallery but where John Quellin did his painting and printing. Managed to just get back in time to avoid the rain.
2015	T - Irene called to tell us that Paul had died around 5PM.
2022	Th - Gail called from surgery and I had to bring her to the hospital. She was admitted straight away and the gist of it is her pulse rate was at 30. So they are talking pacemaker and keeping her in overnight.
