1967	North Star Lake: Chopped down trees for raft. Long hard work so we didn't as many cut as we planned. see photos
1970	Food store: Butter card was "lost" [ed. - butter disappeared so much that I reported it to the bursar].
1973	8AM bus to Auckland then Paul Mitchell's to pick up my charts book and more records. We taxied back to town. Bought a book for Dad and had a good ham meal at the Sir Loin. Walked up to Karanghape Rd to look at sewing machines. Ended up getting a Bernina on Queen St [ed. - still have it in 2022, brought it back and forth and having to replace motors]. Got the express home (via motorway) and had to stand all the way.
1975	Had sunfish for breakfast. Helped Steve and his uncle, Mark, build steps down to dock and clear a spot to store the canoe. We left at 1PM and headed north to Effie, then down through Park Rapids, hitting Dawson 7 hours later.
1980	Su - Went to the Minnesota Zoo with Towns (trails). Had a look at Beluga whales, then the Tropic Trail: monkeys and nocturnal animals. Dolphins. Did the Minnesota Trail: puma liked Ne. Dick kept threatening to throw her into the tiger pit because they liked little girls. Saw otters and snow monkeys. Didn't see much on the Northern Trail. Lunch at a Dairy Queen which had a rotating self-serve counter. Took the monorail and were able to see moose, Siberian tigers, 4 baby king birds on a branch only inches away. Guide gave us the names of all the trees and flowers. Kids zoo with goats and sheep to pet along with farm animals. Neat room filled with puzzles and things for kids. Sat through a hawks demonstration. Ran across a snake demo and we all had a chance to touch large snakes.
1981	M - Gail began job as receptionist at Specialty Engineering. Carringtons are taking care of the kids with Gail working. As soon as she got home she went to JC Penney to work until 9PM.
1983	W - Listed all my current activities (tasks - Greenies - Enhancements - Problem Docs). Went to Priorities meeting with Chapman (first time for each of us). I explained the true time estimate situation (not Eliason's dream world one). So I am to make up new ones in writing. Typed up page 3 of South Dakota trip summary.
1985	Sa - Put the kids bikes put together. Kathy and Lia stopped in after netball. We returned the mattress and belongings to Aldies. Jocelyn Lawrence, Asan, Semine and Riaz also came for James' first birthday. He was perfect, so happy. Loved the phone from Riaz. Bike we gave him will have to be a future toy. Had an okay '84 Montana Sauvignon Blanc. Ne walked to Sanders and we drove over later for our anniversary meal with a harsh Table Red by Maisson Vin. Played Trivial Pursuit.
1986	Su - Dianne and Mark over to chat, compare house leaks / mold growth and their coming trip to Europe while playing cribbage and sipping a French Chantelys red.

2001	Audrey stopped in with a bottle of Matua Valley - we chatted over with Gail joining us. Then before you could say "I need to sleep" Ann, Russell and Chris arrived for supper. Had a little lie down before Gail dragged me out for the TP crowd.
2003	email from Ve who is a stewardess for Air Berlin. Steve brought PaintShop Pro 8 that he got in the States while he was in KC proposing to Kay.
2004	Counties Care in Papakura to get key from Marcia. Got to Whangamata around 4:30PM and to Marcia's place - new and very nice.
2008	Informed that we had won third prize in the Quota raffle.
2022	W - Gail had a dizzy spell.
