Postcard to Info Centre. Gail and I walked to Thrifty at 11AM to pick up our car only to be told it wouldn't be ready until 5PM, ruining our plans for the day.
At 2PM all of us went back to town, I got a blue sleeveless sweater and a blue tie. Bought a big suitcase. Ne bought a watch where seconds were shown by a swimmer, but later the minutes and hour hands didn't work.
David got a blue dress shirt and a Dugeons and Dragons set. Bought a pink sweatshirt for Trish. We made a mistake of going into the underground train system heading the wrong way at the end of a workday. We hugged the wall and stood still for many minutes while the throng rushed past. Picked up the car, a Pintara, and drove it back to the Oxford where we parked in the basement.
Walked down through infamous King's Cross which lived up to its hype as we passed an assortment of non-normal human beings and
the mandatory drunks sprawled on the sidewalk. In fact two of them worried us so much that we didn't go into the Spanish restaurant and ended up in a dump of a cafe, "Squills" where we ate alone - but it was cheap
at $23.40. Back to pack while watching The Cosby Show and Hamburger... The Motion Picture |
