1963	Opened my first bank account at Richfield State Bank.
1970	Cyclone Julie raging - matches so damp they won't strike and my roomy is stuffy. A chunk of King's Road slid away o can't get from Korovou to Suva, but we can't get to Korovou from here as the road is covered knee deep and bridges are out.
1975	"Kicked" sod with Bob and Mert at a place where Mert is building a garage. I didn't actually kick, since I am a weakling. So I put the sod rolls into the trailer. We laid the sod on the front lawn of the Golden Valley property.
1980	T - We were going to look at houses when I got a call from StPaul Cos giving me an interview on July 3rd. Called Sandy M and she seemed to think that I had a good chance. So we cancelled our Nokomis trip and drove out to Woodbury to check on that area. At an A&W and the manager gave us shirt decals.
1981	W - Afternoon off to go to Company picnic at Como Zoo with Dieffenbachs. Katie and Ne enjoyed each other's company. David loved the motorcycle ride which does a wheelie and a jump. He went on it three times. He didn't like the mini-roller coaster. Had KFC lunch and ice cream, then over to see the animals. One last ride and we left at 4PM with a sunburn.
1983	F - Farewelled Eliason at Tinucci's. I made the keynote speech and gave him the Decision Maker. Long talk with new supervisor, Chapman.
1988	OZ trip: Flew to Melbourne. Go to Trip Report
1998	W - Jo Katz gave me a book on Argentina (note). Bought a "beer" fridge and put it in the upstairs big room.
2002	Day 3 of our Moab trip - Arches.
2006	Needhams over for a birthday meal (fantastic Awhitu '02 Syrah) and visit.
2007	Gail and I went to Mangere Bridge to join about 40 others celebrating Kathy S and cousin Ann's birthdays. Met Ann's husband Peter, and a bunch of Ann's friends, including a Mike who had "I'm home alone and in the shower" txt to him and never dared to reply. On Kathy's side we had Mike H, of course, her brother Mike, Corinne Koefed (now at Takapuna) and Flo Matich (still at Rosehill), Joneses and Lia. I brought along a perfect Taylor '04 Cab Sav.
2010	Th - Ian came for a couple games of Dominion and had me try his grappo with a lime and then a melon sweetener. Still crappo. Settled for coffee with the birthday cake.
2015	W - Saw Giles about back pain (fellow lying on floor in worse shape than me) - chemist for nifuran (same guy on that floor).
2016	F - Anna over for Scrabble. I had a 7-letter and heaps of 30 pointers to get a new high of 326 (board).
2020	W - Took a Tramadol which took the edge off of the neck pain I have had for a month or so. Went for a 65 minute walk in the extremely windy weather. Chatted to a fellow who was handing out brochures on the New Conservative party. I was the only fool on the beach where the whipped up sand stung exposed skin - luckily I was well covered.
2023	Sa - Kathy and Mike off to a funeral. Had to get Gail from 34OC where the Platz had a flat. email from Mike relating Sandy's breast cancer battle. Listened to the Twins's Joe Ryan throw first shutout in five years, with a 6 - 0 win over Red Sox. Steak supper with a 2019 Summerhouse Pinot Noir that was delicious. Taught them Kingdominoes.
