1970	First day teaching science, I made good use of the physics lab by weighing a potatoe. Started a Science Library. Joanne, Christine and Dinah washed our doors today - they wanted money for Lewaki goings on.
1977	Sanders and Aldies over. (Doug couldn't find his shoes and when he did Trish hit him 4 times with one). After Harvey Wallbangers and supper we looked at slides (ours and Aldersons' latest).
1979	Su - Trish over to watch an Access show on Speech Therapy. Also viewed an Indian lady telling us how to be feminine. Sal and Chendrah over with Suresh for supper (with a good Nobilo '78 dry white). They gave kids bath toys: turtle and frog. After the meal we listened to a Diamond Lil (character by Marcus Craig) album that Sally had won at the Ace of Clubs for being the best island dancer.
1980	T - Went to Medicine Lake where the kids played on the beach while I went for a run. Had a picnic supper there.
1984	Su - Went to Mounds Park. Had lunch among the Indian burial mounds. Went to base of High Bridge. David wouldn't dare to climb the open stairs, but I had to stop Ne at the 5th flight or she would have gone all the way up. We also checked out the coal barges on the river. Check out the photos.
1985	M - Queen's Birthday. Picked up Lia and brought her to Georgie Pie for lunch then Rainbow's End where Gail and kids went on the Log Flume at $4/per. Everyone gets wet at the bottom. The girls had a very long ride on the Pirate Ship. David drove a car for the first time and loved it - but very serious at the same time. Back for coffee and cake (Kathy's birthday) and a sweet Cook's Chenin Blanc. David and I brought a pavlova, card and sherry to Bensons. Mentioned that we needed a table and chairs, so they brought over their old kitchen set.
1990	Mt William with Whites. Cloudy and windy - Ne and Matthew stayed in the van. Made it halfway to the south trig (video) and stopped for lunch. Tracy didn't make it that far. Jackie who her whole life never said a word, became David's pal and wouldn't stop talking. Women turned back and the rest of us made it to the communication tower. David and Jackie turned back at that point leaving only me and Ian to do the final stretch to the north trig. Ian and Susi trounced us at bridge. Mallies got even at Family Feud (video). Quite a rowdy game - Susi never understood it and two liters of wine (including a Morton Estate Pinot Noir Blush) didn't help her. Had gooseberry pie and Gummi Bears ice cream for dessert. 2001	Getting used to staying in bed - last winter Ne said that I "hibernated" and I think she is correct. With the cold weather, I have no desire to go outside and am quite happy to stay in bed and listen to the Twins.
2017	Sa - 45 minute walk and found $5.
2023	Sa - Long weekend and I saw two cars pulled over on way to Te Kauwhata. Warriors with Russell. Heard about his Queensland trip with his granddaughters and Cynthia. Mt Smart is now "Go Media" Stadium. One of the better games this year with a win over Dolphins 30 - 8. Johnson had a couple tricky runs for tries (highlights). Half time had a mascot race.
