1977 Aldies picked us up and we were in Auckland at 9AM for the 'Round the Bays'. Muldoon was introduced, before he could say a word the cannon went off. We could only walk for the first two blocks before we could find leg room to run. I was feeling tired by the time we crossed the first bridge. What a sight, we were in the middle and we could see runners stretched out in front and behind us. I stayed with Doug for the first 6Km when a stitch in my gut forced me to walk the next Km. 11.27km (7 miles) in 65 min 20sec finishing in top 2000 out of 20,000 starters (certificate). Took me 20 minutes to find Doug and then another 10 until we found the women and kids. Had lunch and watermelon on a grassy hill. Highlights of Superbowl was on TV and the US Ambassador explained the game. Oakland 34 - Vikings 17 (clip).
1979 M - PR meeting - EJ worried about amount of printing (I am a main culprit). Lamorna brought us a pumpkin pie that she had baked.
1980 W - Delwyn (on bicycle) came to farewell us. Sandy and Mike came by for drinks and to organize handing over to them.
1989 Doug called to say how much fun he had last night - used a phoney voice and was pretending to be Willie, a friend of Orville. Daya called to say that he has been unemployed for the past month and could I help him.
2002 Up at 11:30AM - here's the way it normally goes: I woke at 8AM and felt great, but back to sleep; up at 9AM and feel some pains, back to sleep, up at 11AM really hurting and 30 minutes of trying to convince myself to get out of bed. Basically, I just lay there until I have enough energy to get up
2005 Gail and I went to "Pacifica" and I should have taken Gt No Road as it took us 45 mintues to move the 3.5Km on NW motorway to get to Western Springs, then a sign told us to go left for parking, but that took us further away, so we went back and found a spot right next to the grounds. Well kind of, it was a walk down through bush to the lake. Enjoyed the lively and colorful Tuvalu group, watched Samoan dancers and ended at the Fijian area for a weak singing group from Naitesiri with young dancers. I'd say the crowd of 50,000 was 90% islanders, 8% white and 2% Asian.

2006 First Warriors game of the year. Fat Freddie's Drop performed pre-game and there was an absence of cheerleaders. A game that could have been won - lost 28 - 22. Tony Martin did okay on field goals. Four tiny little girls in front and they never watched the game. Read match report at Worriers.
