1971 Sa - MOD. Couldn't find Rongo, but Cagi was doing the rounds. Gave Jone Y a good whack and he still didn't budge from bed. Helped Parauni in the Food Store. Put Saula in charge of farmwork. Joji came down to the school in his $2.50 sombrero and waited for the mail with me. He came to the house and we listened to a tape from Mom. Started punishment parade and left it with Rongo. Went through the dorms and talked to the boys about the athletics meet. Meanwhile Joji had washed my clothes. Back at the house we were joined by Ponipate, Nafitalai and Apasai - talking sports. Festaitu, Texpino and Taito came up to read newspapers. Joji gives the news of the day each night to the Bau boys.

1977 Checked out McGhie's new house. Barbecue at Sanders.
1978 M - Watched The Good Life. Typed rules (page 1 page 2) for Manukau Sec School Basketball Assoc.
1980 Th - Brought TV to Mrs Davies at Verona Cafe (Greek restaurant on Karangahape) and sold it for $45. Brought albums I didn't want to Record Exchange and got $25 for 13 (they knew a guy who wanted Paul Revere albums - so it was my lucky day). Mrs Dent came over to wish us a good journey. Ne and I walked up to Aldersons where Bruce and I finished painting the garage. Evening at Bensons for a meal.
1984 T - Lunch with Kathy at the Attic (across from work). Lively waitress with an European accent. Had Kathy send Doug a message (email in 1984!) that I had given Tom 8 bicentennial quarters (just winding Doug up who was collecting and I was supplying). Hood ornament was ripped off car while we were in Cub.
1986 Th - Carried the IBM portable [ed. - I called it a luggable and hated carrying it] to Rolling Mills to help Barb get DW3 going. Took a while until I realized it was an old worn out disk causing the problem [ed. - with little memory or harddisk space you would put a floppy in to run a program].
1999 F - Kentish for Gail's birthday meal, but the diningroom was reserved, so we ate in the bar/TAB area on tall stools and small table. Good cheap food. Gail tried a light beer.
2005 Gail and I went to the Presbysterian church in Drury. Scottish minister, John, very laid back opening, Lee B played us through a hymn then Trish tried to read her eulogy. Maire's mother fainted so there was a stoppage as she was removed and taken to hospital. Jeff B called 911 and told operator that an old lady fainted, asked age, 96, asked if she had breathing problems, he said "I don't know, here's her Mother". Imagine what the operator must have thought. Maire retorted: "I'm her daughter!". Trish managed to complete her story about her amazing mother. Including the cranberry-Cointreau story. Chatted with Jeff and Lee and met a fellow from India, Janfiq, and his family (wife is Jahira). Gail and I chatteded with a Margaret Dodd (Peter and Alan's mother) who lives on Appleby and with John and Verna Woodcock.

2006 Eating my hotdog supper when I remembered we were eating at Brundell's. So over there for a second meal with an Oyster Bay 2005 Sauvignon Blanc, followed by a baked cheese cake from Rosalie's in Waiuku.
2010 Sa - Call from Ne who went into the ditch at Orua Beach. Rattrie was fishing, so I got a tow truck from Pukekohe. But a couple guys pulled the car out and it wasn't needed, saving us heaps of money.
2014 Th - Up at 7AM to get to hospital for a chat with Jo about up coming operation and have an EKG done by Anna.
2024 W - On my way to 34OC I stopped at Reilly Park and took shots under the basket for 10 minutes and I was huffed out. Watched Giants blow premiership Pies out of the water building a 52 point lead and winning 114 - 82. Callum Brown had 5 goals. Gym and pool (12).
