1971	Gave 5B a test and 7 zeroes. The worst class I've had in the two years. No hope. Told Qori to stand outside in the sun; he said he had a headache, I said I didn't care too much. He stormed off to the dorm and came in his suwai, barged back into the lab and berated the class and then went to the principal.
1982	M - Typical work day: big changes for pending messages, MMRATE doesn't prorate, JUA installment plan, and a cancelled policy didn't produce a PPP schedule. Strom stayed at work, so Arlyn drove us a far as his place, then I had to drive the VW (stick shift!) to drop Dorothy off and over to Strom's where I found a "For Sale" sign.
1986	Sa - Spent day on ladder pruning hedge, kids loaded the trailer and Gail made 3 trips to the tip. I could see across the top into neighbor's yard - John, the guy I chat with while waiting for bus to NZ Steel. His wife came out and said "Hi, Mr. Malecek, you taught our son, Andrew, many years ago". [ed. - Parkinson, who was a stationery helper and came to the house to say goodbye in 1980 - he ended up teaching at with Gail before becoming a steward for Air New Zealand].
1992	Omana with Aldies. Met Leo Rolfe at Clevedon where we stopped to get a photo of store before it was demolished. He bought a snack bar in Takanini with his redundancy. It was cold and windy so only Doug and boys went in. Home for a meal and birthday cake - Chardy had eaten the frosting ( photo).
2001	Ian came by for a swim. Doug over for Scattergories (Don't, John and New).
2007	Tony Nelson came for a meal and kept going on about our house and property.
2009	Kathy and David Millar visited. Sat out back and sipped Villa Maria 06 SavBlanc.
2016	T - 3B where I ended up chatting with Nigel for a good hour about quantum physics etc... Surfer married to a Japanese and taught karate for 35 years.
2019	F - Gail went to Ann's without me (flu) but returned when she got lost at roundabout. I drew her a map and sent her on her way. Apparently, no game, just chat. Muslim mosques attacked in Christchurch - David emailed to say he was okay.
2023	W - Laugh-In" DVDs arrived and I watched the first DVD (Tiny Tim's first performance on TV). Terraforming and a couple games of Wingspan. Championship game: Breakers blew a 12 point lead and lost by 8.
