1966 First day as Desk Clerk (Holiday Inn Minneapolis - Airport) on a regular basis and made a $1 tip.
1969 My roommate Dave's legless cousin (Viet Nam), Bob, spent two days with us. Had a good time with them - both being good ol' boy beer drinkers. Played some mean checkers.
1970 No school today so the boys can go to Suva to see Queen Elizabeth.
1983 Sa - Minneapolis Art Institute kids day. Ne did a full-size tracing of herself while David drew a Pacman on a computer. Ground Round at 'Happy Hour" so free kids' drinks.
1989 Su - Foodtown is having experimental Sunday shopping. Oddest things were covered (not for sale) e.g. noodles?
1993 We had the TP people over for the first time.
1996 T - Colville back at school with his PS/1 keyboard (every spring removed). David dressed up and went to the casino at midnight with Ben and Michael. He cleared $230.
1998 Th - First IT committee and I almost walked out - each person is only thinking about their department and wants to be my boss. No idea about school-wide issues.
1999 F - Gail and I ran into Lorette at Countdown and met her short husband, Jean Luc, who is a Cheese Master and says NZ's stuff sucks.
2001 Helen's where I was given a tour of the honey making process, then a little on the computer and over to meet Dr and Mrs Ford who have a chapel and function room and are putting in a horse treadmill and have the odd computer problem.
2002 Ian and Susi came with his ex-fiancé, Jeanette. Visited over a 1995 Cordier Chateau Tanesse bordeaux.
2004 James drove out to get a CD. I must've been sleeping and he didn't dare come into the house - so back to Drury empty-handed.
2008 Hayson arrived with more photos (these from his mother) and more facts about Fiji days. I gave him the disc of scanned slides. He enjoyed the Santana concert - said that there were only three people on the special train.
2012 M - Ian came and we went to McLaren Falls Park where we kayaked and had supper.

2017 Su - Russell and I found a close carpark for $10. We bought $70 tickets and then organized the season tickets ($417) in the wrong bay, which was a good thing as they are right on the halfway line - even better than what we had for the past 16 years. Peter asked why we were in different seats and after we explained he asked if we had paid. Upon saying "No" he said he had two next to him (also free to him since he does the teams' uniforms that he would give to us for $250 each. I told him I would feed him each game and so today I bought him (and Russell) a sausage. He gave us the passes and supporters junk bag. The team blew a a half time lead and then squeeked out a win in the last minutes. Sloppy play by both sides (highlights). Stayed for a coffee and watched Eels beat Manly before heading home at 8PM.
2018 M - B12 and then drove to Papamoa and Harmon Automotive where I had the puncture repaired, tires rotated and an alignment done all for $25. Fellow misunderstood what the free rotation included, eh? Fellow before me didn't get milk in his coffee so I took it to sip the 50 minutes while I read my book. Then to top it off, I was given a chocolate Easter egg when I paid.
2021 F - Gail got me up - earthquakes and tsunami warning. Packed car, but we weren't in the areas needing to move to higher ground. Ne came over to wait it out.
2024 T - Turned in a year's worth of cans ($13.65). Cashed last US check - no bank in NZ accepting checks after 31st March. Woolies to get meds (no B12 in country for the third time) and stuff. Watched Freo get decimated by Port in preseason match. Gym and pool (10).
