1974 |
Paul and Bill over for lunch with about 50 C&W albums plus the latest Billboard. Looked through the R'nR stuff that my mom had sent while listening to the "telescoping" I had done. I told him about "63.... that's easy to remember" and he said he would use it. I got loaded on a terrible Lincoln dry red and floated around until supper. |
1975 |
After a breakfast of doughnuts and lemonade in the room we walked over to Waiakea Village Marketplace. A beautifully set out hotel with running water and fauna.
Bought more souvenirs, went through the orchid place and spoke to a real Hawaiian building an outrigger. Walked over to the Japanese Gardens at Liliuokalani Park.
In the evening we walked to town and had a meal in a dump but very friendly people. I had a combination Mexican. The owner played with Te while we ate. Stopped at a shopping center on way back to hotel. Taped Hilo radio: Sports and KTA commercial.
And I taped David in our room. |

Th - Bill for Gail's doctor visit ($32.50 = 10x NZ). Prudential Job Fair where I spent two hours with Records, Data Processing, System Engineering, Benefits. Then I spoke to Personnel to arrange an interview and she told me to talk to Underwriting people. |
1986 |
Th - Brought Anil shopping at Foodtown. He didn't buy any food - just household items. Took two hours as he had many questions. Ran into Rose Van der Lee and met her husband, Harmon. Also bumped into Judith Tunley with her hair cut short, tanned and freckled,
so unlike the pale girl of 1974. Brought Anil to Georgie Pie and then home where he gave Gail and kids a tour of his unit. |

1989 |
Simon borrowed car to haul a trailer load of stuff to Julie's new place. So Gail got to use his '67 Riley Elf. |
1992 |
Manurewa pool with Whites. I was in for an hour - Ian stayed in longer to work on his swimming. Back to our place where Ian cooked supper. Gail taught him
how to make hash browns (video). Bridge until 9:30PM. |

2011 |
Su - Warriors. Juniors creamed Rabbitohs 62 - 6 and big boys held in for a 12 - 6 win. NZ Army Brass Band played and wowed the crowd with their non-military behaviour (video).
Sat next to a Rabbit fan who lives in Byron Bay. Since Bendon is a team sponsor I asked the guy who does the uniforms if he also cleans the undies - he does and he told us that sometimes Daniel Carter wears Jockey. |
